DIRECTOR OF PROGRAM EVALUATION AND RESEARCHNon-Profit Leaders Can Work Anywhere….The BEST Work with Us!Salary: $80,000-$90,000A nationally recognized comprehensive Health and Human Services Agency, with over 60 programs across New York City and the greater New York Area.Samaritan Daytop Village serves over 33,000 New Yorkers annually within your neighborhoods and communities so our success depends on those we employ.The RoleThis position is responsible for designing, implementing, and directing research and evaluation activities in the areas of behavioral health and physical health, and various social determinants of health. The Director of Program Evaluation and Research will help strengthen the agency’s impact by leading the organization’s evaluation activities across all programs and administrative departments.What You Will DoOversees data collection pertaining to program evaluation and grant activities.Collaboratively drives, develops, and manages evaluation strategy to define and measure program success Leads all aspects of data systems and practices related to evaluation, ensuring data integrity and access (e.g., program monitoring dashboards, client survey practices). Supports grant and proposal writing efforts by providing relevant data and evidence of program effectiveness. Works closely with the Development team, providing grant-writing and grant-reporting assistance helping translate outcomes into the story of our work.Assigns work to, and provides supervision to, Research Associates. Prepares reports, recommendations, scientific papers, articles for publication, and conference presentations on research and evaluation efforts.Designs evaluation components of all new program development initiatives to ensure that programs reduce health disparities and meet the needs of the communities served.Serves as the Program Evaluator on all SAMSHA grants and implements evaluation plans that align with SAMSHA’s evaluation framework.Serves as Principal Investigator for research grants and ensures agency research protocols are maintained.Advises the agency’s Executive Management staff on demographic trends and program outcome data; recommend areas for improvement resulting from program evaluation studies.Conducts statistical operations and analyses.Who You Will BeBachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or other related degree.Five (5) years’ professional experience with program evaluation, research, or data analysis in behavioral health, substance use treatment, and/or healthcare settings.Strong analytical skills and experience with quantitative and qualitative data analysis Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills with friendly and professional demeanor. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with astute ability to articulately present material in front of large audience. Teamplayer with desire to work collaboratively in fulfillment of SDV’s mission and vision.Strong organizational, project management and problem-solving skills with impeccable multi-tasking abilities. Computer literacy including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, data visualization software (Tableau preferred), and electronic medical and/or health records.Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds.Possession of strong analytical skills and experience with data analysis and the use of metrics to drive decisions and achieve strategic objectives. Strong organizational and process management skills. Willingness to travel to agency sites and other venues as needed.
