Novelis Oswego has an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Technician! The primary focus of this position is maintenance, service and repair of facilities and equipment. Successful Electrical Technicians are fast learners and self-motivated, independent workers. They have the ability to work under pressure and the willingness to work in varying conditions. Electrical Technicians receive training in troubleshooting, technical procedures, and safety. They help create, maintain, and repair the electronic components and equipment used in any machinery that involves electricity. They work on site to keep machinery and specialty equipment running correctly.ResponsibilitiesUse specialized measuring and diagnostic devices to evaluate equipmentInspect for problemsWork with wires using hand tools while handling small componentsRepair and replace defective components in motors, generators, controllers, storage batteries, switchboards, conductors, switches and varied electrical fixturesInstall, maintain and repair electrical, electromechanical, and electronic parts of machinery and equipmentPerform defensive repair and preservation of field, plant and shop for electronic and electrical systems, equipment, and devicesRead and interpret blueprints, schematics and wiring diagramsPlan and prepare work orders or instructions utilizing blueprints, sketches, and drawingsQualifications2 Year Electrical Degree or 5+ years experience Experience with:Power DistributionIndustrial motor control (A/C & D/C Controls) Process control and instrumentation Combustion control systemsComputer skills / computer operated control systems Ladder logicPreferred Qualifications Manufacturing experience preferredFor this role, the pay is from $35.67 USD / hour.
