As Assistant Superintendent, you will be responsible for providing incredible guest service and member experiences by assisting with the day-to-day oversight of the maintenance and agronomic practices of the golf course and adjacent grounds. This includes managing the clubhouse landscaping and maintenance complex. Previous supervisory experience is a requirement for the position.Ideal candidates have flexible schedules with availability to occasionally work weekends and holidays, as needed. This includes competitive compensation starting at $60,000.Our team has made a conscious effort to ensure strong protocols are in place to keep you and our patrons safe, so you can focus on the customer experience and property management.For more information on our open opportunities, apply todayResponsibilitiesSupervises and trains foreman, irrigations technician and other employees in the maintenance departmentPrepares weekly schedules for foreman, irrigations staff and other employees in the maintenance departmentMonitors inventory of all maintenance equipment and the use of the equipment, preventative maintenance schedule, and safety trainingWorks closely with Superintendent in managing annual budget and maintenance recordkeepingWorks closely with Superintendent in preparing short-term and long-term agronomic strategies to maintenance of the golf course daily, weekly, monthly and yearly fertilization, irrigation, etc. schedulesCalibrates and operates pesticide sprayersInstitute and implement all Troon Human Resources guidelinesAssists Superintendent in informing members about present and future maintenance activitiesPerform other duties as assigned by supervisor or managerEducation and Experience Requirements1-3 years turf grass management experience requiredSupervisory experience requiredA four-year college degree preferred, but not requiredGCSAA Member or apprentice preferred, but not requiredKnowledge of budgeting and expense managementMust possess basic computer skills - Word and ExcelMust have a strong business aptitude and passion for the golf businessMust be highly organized and efficient with a high attention to detailMust have exceptional communication and interpersonal skillsMust Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skillsWorking ConditionsPhysical activity including long periods (6-8 hours) of standing, walking, bending, and scoopingRegularly to reach with arms and handsOccasionally will be required to lift up to 30lbs.Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, and depth perceptionModerate exposure to extreme cold, heat, working outdoors, chemicals, pesticides, gasoline, vibration, pollen, dust, mechanical hazards and electrical hazardsNoise level is typically moderate to loudWork extended hours during golf and holiday seasonWork weekends and holidaysAbout Troon Troon started as one facility in 1990 and has since grown to become the world's largest professional club management company.
