Catastrophe Modeling and Exposure Management AnalystPosition OverviewAs a Catastrophe Modeler and Exposure Management Analyst, you will be instrumental in analyzing and interpreting complex data related to natural disasters and catastrophic events, thereby contributing significantly to our risk assessment and decision-making processes. Utilize advanced statistical and analytical techniques to assess risks associated with catastrophic events.Collect, process, and validate large data sets related to catastrophe modeling. Ensure data integrity and accuracy for reliable model outputs.Work closely with the Underwriting and Actuarial departments to integrate catastrophe modeling outputs into pricing, underwriting, and risk selection processes.Track and manage property portfolio concentrations; refine methods and strategies to proactively manage exposures and address concentration issues.Create projections of the geographic impact of pending major natural catastrophes to assist in staffing planning.Perform thorough analyses of the catastrophe and concentration components of potential programs and book opportunities.Conduct scenario analyses and stress tests to evaluate the potential impact of catastrophic events under various conditions.Salary Range$75,000.00-$145,000.00 USDThe annual base salary range posted represents a broad range of salaries around the U.S. and is subject to many factors including but not limited to credentials, education, experience, geographic location, job responsibilities, performance, skills and/or training.Bachelor's degree in a STEM field, Finance, Economics, or Business Administration.2-4 years of experience in Property & Casualty roles closely related to catastrophe modeling, within the Insurance or Reinsurance industry.Proficiency in catastrophe modeling software (e.g., RMS, AIR) and strong skills in data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, R, Python).Exceptional quantitative and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and translate findings into actionable insights.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to a diverse audience.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate with various departments.
