Are you passionate about water safety and committed to helping others learn to swim? The Binghamton JCC is seeking a motivated Water Safety Instructor (WSI) with all levels of experience and specialties. A unique opportunity to join a growing team and build offerings for our members and community.WSI's have the knowledge to teach safe swimming skills from the most beginner swimmer all the way up to an experienced athlete looking to improve their technique. The WSI is tasked with cultivating a sense of community through positive interactions with members and clients and fostering an environment for all to develop necessary habits to encourage the love of swimming for newcomers in a safe and fun environment.Water Safety Instructor:Conduct swim skill assessments and screenings to determine clients' swim level and skill statusDevelop and implement personalized lesson plans that align with clients' swimming development goalsMonitor clients' progress and adjust lesson plans as neededDemonstrate correct swim stroke techniques and provide feedback to clients.Motivate clients and teach them safe habits in and around water.Harboring a safe and fun learning environmentExplaining the proper way to swim each stroke.Promote swim lessons and other JCC services where applicable.Provide a fun, engaging, enriching and safe environment for our JCC members. As a full-service, non-profit organization, the JCC provides educational, cultural, recreational, and physical fitness programs to enhance the quality of life for all ages, from infants to senior citizens. As a non-sectarian United Way partner, the Center welcomes participants regardless of age, race, religion, sexual orientation, nationality, or ability to pay.The JCC's facility houses a natatorium with a 2250 square foot pool, full gymnasium, small fitness center, men's and women's health clubs, steam, sauna, a fitness loft with spin bikes and Pilates reformers, full stage and auditorium, and more. Over 300 children are served daily at our award-winning Early Childhood Center. Our year-round educational childcare includes UPK, after school, summer camp, and youth sports programs.The 8-acre land also features outdoor tennis/Pickleball and basketball courts, pavilion, nature preserve, soccer field, and three age-appropriate playground facilities.
