Are you passionate about fitness and committed to helping others achieve their health and wellness goals? The Binghamton JCC is seeking motivated personal trainers with all levels of experience and specialties. A unique opportunity to join a growing team and build offerings for our members and community. Personal trainers also serve as the Trainer on duty, where they offer support and educating on the safe and correct use of cardio and weight training equipment. The TOD is tasked with cultivating a sense of community through positive interactions with members and fostering an environment where members can develop necessary habits to lead to a long-term healthy lifestyle. They ensure the continued culture of cleanliness is followed by all. Minimum Qualifications: Personal Trainer Conduct fitness assessments and screenings to determine clients' fitness level and health status Develop and implement personalized workout plans that align with clients' fitness goals Monitor clients' progress and adjust workout plans as needed Demonstrate correct exercise techniques and provide feedback to clients Motivate clients and hold them accountable to their fitness goalsTrainer on Duty (Floor Hours)Act as the "Mayor" of the Fitness floor, encouraging socialization, informed use of the equipment and safety. Act as the face of the department and serve as an example of professionalism and brand standard. Circulate and assist members in using safe and effective exercise form during their workouts. Maintain a clean, safe and orderly fitness floor, racking weights, wiping machines, stocking etc. Explaining the proper use of all equipment available and exercise technique Promote personal training and other JCC services where applicable Provide a fun, engaging, enriching and safe environment for our JCC members Ensure members leave promptly at the end of reservations and stick to assigned locations Qualifications Nationally recognized and NCCA accredited certification in personal training CPR/AED/First Aid Certification Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Requires ability to lift 50lbs and capability of standing for long periods The JCC can support outstanding candidates in obtaining these certifications. As a full-service, non-profit organization, the JCC provides educational, cultural, recreational, and physical fitness programs to enhance the quality of life for all ages, from infants to senior citizens. As a non-sectarian United Way partner, the Center welcomes participants regardless of age, race, religion, sexual orientation, nationality, or ability to pay. The JCC's facility houses a natatorium with a 2250 square foot pool, full gymnasium, small fitness center, men's and women's health clubs, steam, sauna, a fitness loft with spin bikes and Pilates reformers, full stage and auditorium, and more. Over 300 children are served daily at our award-winning Early Childhood Center. Our year-round educational childcare includes UPK, after school, summer camp, and youth sports programs. The 8-acre land also features outdoor tennis/Pickleball and basketball courts, pavilion, nature preserve, soccer field, and three age-appropriate playground facilities.
