RS&H is currently seeking a Transportation 3D Design Engineer to support our Infrastructure service group at the regional level.Job Locations: US-NC-Asheville, US-GA-Atlanta; US-SC-Charleston; US-NC-Raleigh, Charlotte, Asheville; US-VA-Richmond, Vienna; US-FL-Jacksonville, Orlando, Tampa, Ft. Lauderdale, Miami, Tallahassee; US-IL-St. Charles; US-CO-Denver; US-TX-HoustonJob Summary: The 3D Design Engineer will have the opportunity to be at the forefront of industry trends as it relates to the transportation market and will be responsible for leading innovative project delivery initiatives across various geographies. This role will interface with multiple project teams across the country, including a full range of disciplines (highway, drainage, structures, signals, lighting, ITS, etc.) to advise, design, and produce key projects emphasizing digital delivery and 3D design workflows.Responsibilities:Operate nationally as a lead resource to deliver critical, high-profile projects that require the implementation of cutting-edge technologies and/or emerging design workflowsProvide 3D Model quality control services for transportation infrastructure projectsSupport strategic pursuits and project digital deliveries across various geographiesEnsure regional operational capabilities across the Infrastructure service group are sufficient to meet evolving client demands as well as strategic marketing objectivesServe as an internal leader and liaison between different branches of the organization, and an external industry ambassador as it applies to emerging design innovationsIdentify and curate pilot projects and/or support external clients to develop agency protocols and guidelinesSeek innovative solutions across non-traditional workflows to support the next generation of project needsAssist with project onboarding programs (both internal and external) and the mentoring of younger associatesSupport the relationship building process with key clients, industry organizations, teaming partners, and stakeholders to identify opportunities to grow the business within both traditional services and new lines of serviceAssist in the development of corporate standard practices relating to the shift to BIM for infrastructureMaintain an ongoing awareness and understanding of trends impacting infrastructure and construction management through active participation in industry conferences and professional organizationsMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited university with an emphasis in transportation engineeringMinimum 8+ years working in the transportation design industryExcellent working knowledge of OpenRoads Designer and other industry softwareUnderstanding of the project delivery processAbility to lead teams without direct authorityWillingness to seek solutions to identified challengesSelf-motivated to improve and optimize project design and deliveryEagerness to promote digital delivery and BIM workflowsEffective written and verbal communication skillsPreferred Qualifications:Certification by the discipline professional society or by the state regulatory board desiredLocalized Department of Transportation knowledgeExperience developing guidance documentation and trainingsAbility to build working relationships with clients and project managersExperience with additional software applications geared towards the Transportation marketBenefits | Careers | RS&H (rsandh.com)Please note: no agency representation or submissions will be recognized for this vacancy.
