Seasonal Entertainment Technician

With our Theme Park, Hotels, Mini-Land and more - the opportunities here at LEGOLAND are endless!About the role...A Technician’s responsibility is to maintain the quality of the guest experience at the highest level possible by ensuring that all technical aspects of areas under Entertainment and Events are delivered at consistently excellent levels. Areas of responsibility include but are not limited to supporting show operations (audio, lighting, audio, scenic, props, and pyrotechnics, and video) and special events install/operation/strike.What you’ll be doing...Support show operations by learning and performing show tracks that may include scene shifts, prop changes, assist as needed with costume changes, operation of technical and theatrical equipment.Provides support including but not limited to show and event installation, strike, and operation; monthly venue maintenance programs; cross-training, and covering open positions.Attends all rehearsal periods as required to maintain LEGOLAND New York Resort’s show program.Carries out all necessary pre and post show checks of equipment, props, and venue to ensure the safety and good working order of all equipment.Troubleshoots and repairs on an as needed basis on scenic elements, sound, lighting, special effects equipment and other technical components.Understanding signal flow to be able to trouble shoot and facilitate basic repairs for lighting connectors, speaker connections, cones, and amplifiers through soldering, rewiring, termination, or exchange out of equipment.Ability to perform regular maintenance on equipment then report all work and remaining defects to the department leadership.Supports and partners with other departments to complete tasks requested by leadership teamMaintains a clean and safe environment in the control booth, house, on-stage and backstage areas always.Assists other Entertainment team members in maintaining clean and safe facility environments when required.Who we’re looking for...Requires a working knowledge of technical production and events, including but not limited to audio, and lighting systems, video systems, props-design/procurement/repair, scenic-design/maintenance/construction, show control & networking, pyrotechnics, rigging and audio repair.Two years of experience in operating lighting and sound equipment for live performances preferred.Prior theme park experience is a bonus but not required.Must have excellent organizational and planning skills. Self-motivated and demonstrated initiative and willingness to develop and learn on going skills. Leads by example with a demonstrated history of supporting colleagues. Strong problem-solving skills and dedicated to providing outstanding guest service.
