About the Role Advertising Services works to provide the highest level of customer service and uphold the standards of Dow Jones. Ad Services staff are the 'go-to' people working closely with editorial, pre-press and production; maintaining and administering company policies and guidelines. In reference to the work they produce, they provide a solid foundation of the most up-to-date and precise information within our organization. The Ad Services Coordinator, Senior role is based in Princeton, New Jersey and is flexible in daily work assignment providing assistance for advertising, editorial, operations and others inside and outside the company as required. You will report to the Ad Services Manager. You will provide solutions, suggestions and production services to clients, sales and suppliers. Under general supervision, the Ad Services Coordinator, Senior role provides services as required by work assignment. This includes knowledge of product structure, standards, procedures, production systems and workflows required to produce daily and periodic products for Dow Jones and the New York Post. You Will: Work together in a fast paced team environment, providing support and follow through for colleagues. Maintain an open line of communication with customers, clients, sales, suppliers, agencies, editorial, operations and all others required. Participate in Training and Development sessions to build leadership skills. Collaborate and assist with the Ad Services Manager on team tasks. Maintain all integrity and accuracy of new ad positions, rate card changes, yearly opening of the systems for new advertising, etc. Represent the team in all projects affecting the advertising systems. Coordinate responsibilities when the manager is out of the office including scheduling, point of contact for issues raised to the team by external groups, daily review of the layout operation. Help address questions or concerns while in the planning stages for editorial and advertising. Work with product layouts, scheduling, print operations, prepress and editorial to provide position and strategic solutions to meet customer needs. Provide knowledge of editorial guidelines and prepress page configurations to create a successful balance between editorial and advertising requirements. Offer solutions and alternatives. Respond to requests for general layout information. Provide print production support for products including working with layout and advertisements. Includes knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, preflight/workflow, layout tools, preflight, PDFX-1a. Monitor production needs and special accounts, size or schedule. Inform other workgroups of any scheduling conflicts, special positioning, launches and exceptions made to policy. Learn new processes, systems and workflows as assigned through on the job and/or formal training. Perform clerical work using the various production systems, booking systems, and standard office application software. Work assignment will be flexible as needed for workload within the advertising services group to provide for a high level of customer service and redundancy of capability. Work with others on special projects/assignments, and all other responsibilities and duties as assigned. You Have: Bachelor's degree preferred, high school diploma minimum. 2 year prior work experience in the print industry. Strong verbal and written communication ability. Ability to take initiative and drive projects with minimal supervision while at the same time, working effectively in a group while supporting colleagues. Excellent customer service skills. Experience within fast paced work environments and ability to multitask, including working effectively. Ability to learn new processes, systems and workflows. Good organization skills, are detail oriented, and are calm under pressure and on deadline.. Working knowledge of printing, workflows, standards and Adobe Creative Suite. Working knowledge of graphic design and imaging standards. Proficiency with Google suite tools. Experience working with print layouts, preferred.
