Kitchen Manager:Golfzon Social is coming to Brooklyn, NY We are excited to announce the exceptional career opportunity of Kitchen Manager at our new location Downtown Brooklyn at 11 Hoyt Street. The Kitchen Manager is responsible for leading the in-house kitchen staff and ensuring the highest quality, efficiency, and cleanliness in all Food & Beverage aspects.This position focuses on the execution of the brand's culinary strategy and is responsible for the overall operations for the back of house and kitchen area of a restaurant. Kitchen Managers hire staff, purchase food and stock, monitor inventory and rotation, and all aspects of the cleanliness processes, while ensuring that everyone is trained on proper food preparation and kitchen safety techniques.Position reports to the General Manager.Benefits for this position include: a group health insurance plan, dental plan, vision plan, paid time off, a 401(k) savings plan, and optional Flexible Spending/Health Savings Accounts.Salary range is $70k-$80k per year, based on experience, with an additional performance bonus. Hiring immediately.Essential Duties:Leads the coordination and training of department members that may include, but is not limited to: Cooks, Lead Cook, and Porters/DishwashersLeads in interviewing, training, planning, assigning, and directing workMakes recommendations when hiring, evaluating performance, rewarding, and disciplining associates. Addresses complaints and resolves problems within company guidelines and the direction of the General ManagerAssists in monitoring business volume forecast and plans accordingly in areas of manpower, productivity, costs and other expensesPrepares food orders in a timely manner to ensure proper stocking to meet demand.Assists in expediting orders and facilitating efficient workflows to ensure guest order accuracy and timelinessAssists in the development of menu items and recipesDevelops food prep lists.Maintains and monitors budgeted food costs. Monitors and receives all ordered food products and supplies, ensures proper storageMaintains sanitation standards and assists with health department inspections. Incorporates safe work practices in job performanceConducts monthly inventory of food and other suppliesPerforms other duties as assigned by the General ManagerThe ideal candidate will have the flexibility to work nights closing the facility, weekends, and holidays as the business needs dictatePhysical Demands:Physical activity including long periods (6-8 hours) of standing, walking, bending, and scoopingOccasionally will be required to lift up to 30lbs.Use of sight, reading, wrist movement to serve meals and beverages, operate food service equipment and clean food service areasSpecific vision abilities include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, and depth perceptionNoise level is moderateQualifications and Knowledge Requirements:Associate Degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred in hotel and restaurant management and/or key leadership role. A combination of practical experience and education will be considered as an alternative.Must have NYC Food Handler CertificationServSafe Certification (Food Manager) a huge plus but not criticalWorking knowledge in the following dimensions of restaurant functions: food planning and preparation, purchasing, sanitation, security, company policies and procedures, personnel management, recordkeeping, and preparation of reportsExcellent Leadership ability including skills to communicate and express ideas and directives clearly to employeesStrong problem analysis and problem resolution at both a functional and planning levelStrong multi-tasking, organizational and time management skills to ensure a quick response to customer needsStrong written and verbal communication skillsStrong leadership and people management skillsProfessional and courteous demeanorAbility to create high performance teams and to be a strong team player.Demonstrate a strong commitment to company valuesComputer proficiency in Microsoft products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft OutlookWorking knowledge of food and beverage service equipment and current trends.Exceptional personal hygiene and positive representation of the organization to employees and customersMust possess a great sense of humorWe welcome you to come and join us as we launch the best social experience Downtown Brooklyn has ever seen
