Come join our Laboratory team and be a part of the best patient care in our region.The Cytotechnologist performs a variety of tests, procedures, microscopic evaluations, and related duties, following established practices and standards, in order to obtain data for use in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.Essential Job Functions of Cytology Technologist:Receives assignmentsaccording to established departmental procedures and plans, organizes, and prioritizes work duties to accomplish daily objectives.Performs testingprocedures and related work according to established protocols and standards with minimal technical and/or data entry error in order to report results to the requesting party.Operates equipmentand works with highly technical instrumentation according to established procedures and protocols in order to assure the accuracy of test results.Performs theduties of the Department Technical Specialist as assigned and in accordance with established standards in order to maintain department productivity levels. Maintains all required laboratory statistics.Maintains departmentalfiles for slides, logs, and other test results so that appropriate patient follow-up can be done.Processes/analyzesappropriate proficiency test material, controls, standards, and other quality control material according to protocol in order to maintain the testing environment.Takes actionin cases of out-of-range controls, discrepancies, or unexpected test results in order to provide proper patient care.Maintains adequatelevels of department supplies by stocking or notifying supervisor of shortages in order to maximize department productivity and minimize cost.Maintains aworking knowledge of laboratory and hospital computer routines.Performs adequacyevaluation and assists physician with specimen collection during Fine Needle Aspiration Procedures.Schedule: Three 8 hour shifts every two weeks (per pay period), ability for flexible start times between 7:00 am- 8:00 am. no weekends, no holidaysEducation and Experience:Bachelor's Degree or Certificate from an approved School of Cytotechnology, required.Licenses and Certifications:Credentialed by an agency approved by the National commission for Health Certifying Agencies (NCHCA), i.e. ASCP, NCA, HEW, ....etc. , Upon hire, preferredBenefits:Medical, Free Dental, Vision Insurance for full time and part time403BPension PlanOn-site discounted Child Care CenterTuition Reimburment up to $5250 per yearFree Life InsuranceFree ParkingPaid Time OffSick TimeFlexible Spending Accounts
