Product Specialist, Bumble and bumble. Brand: Bumble and bumble Description Company overview: Bumble and bumble is a fast-growing luxury hair care brand located in NYC. It started as a salon company and evolved into a multi-million dollar brand comprised of 2 salons, a product company that houses a strong in-house creative agency, a direct sales force, and a university for hairdressers and salon owners. Position overview: The Bumble and Bumble Product Development Product Specialist will support the department in its daily functions as well as the execution of all hair care programs while driving several new product initiatives. The Product Specialist is responsible for fully understanding the Bumble and Bumble product portfolio, competitive products and brands, as well as the latest industry trends. This position reports to the Sr. Manager and will support Executive Director on certain projects. Duties and Responsibilities: Support all new development with direction/mentoring from project managers, and track all projects. Drive all aspects of product reformulations; work with product managers, internal labs, third party vendors, operations and Bb. hair stylists to ensure optimum product performance. Support team with all aspects of new product development process, including testing and evaluating formula submissions on self/mannequin heads, collating formula feedback, communicating with internal labs/third party vendors, coordinating samples for testing, tracking key milestone dates, helping to draft desired claims, etc. QA's /Standards: Evaluate and maintain in-house standards; liaise with EL QA and vendor QA counterparts. Compile and manage competitor comparison charts, provide detailed analysis, track monthly competitive launches, maintain and issue monthly new launch report, and purchase, use, and assess competitive products. Facilitate and support Managers with Consumer and Clinical Testing, owning and tracking claims approvals. Track key dates for team to ensure the team meets all product development milestones within project timeline. Manage note taking for the team during PD team and cross functional meetings. Maintain Ingredient research and product attribute charts. Schedule and oversee product testing with salon and stylists. Maintain product testing calendar and stylist product testing report. Maintain product development room and product closet organization; keep product closet stocked as necessary. Utilize in-salon experience to test and evaluate formula submissions, gathering stylist feedback and before/after photos for key meetings. Support cross-functional and regional requests, including assistance with customer inquiries, claims reports, regulatory documents, and launch toolkits. Maintain and update digital filing system, keep organized records, and circulate information to PD and cross-functional teams as needed, ensuring document integrity. Facilitate copy review with global brand, R&D, and Legal teams, and initiate asset review to ensure claims support compliance. Manage the overall administrative process of the team including project support, department support with meetings, conference calls and salon testing. Other duties as required. Qualifications Qualifications/Job specifications: Minimum of 2-3 years full-time work experience in the beauty industry or product development. Hair category and in salon experience a plus. Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment. Must be flexible, adaptable to changing priorities. Must be detail oriented. Strong written and oral communication skills. Must be proactive with strong follow through skills. Excellent computer skills; proficiency in Power Point a must. Awareness and interest in trends and lifestyle aspects that influence the hair industry. Enthusiasm and positive outlook. The anticipated base salary range for this position is $60,500 to $90,500. Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on geographic location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.
