The Research Associate will be expected to contribute to the overall mission of the research program which focuses on the underlying mechanisms of soft tissue injury and repair. The Research Associate will be actively involved in designing and executing in vitro, in vivo, and translational research studies in this area. This individual will also be responsible for teaching trainees in the laboratory and helping to oversee the day-to-day operations in the laboratory. Administration:Maintains database of research related standard operating protocols, list of reagents, study initiatives, and IACUC applications.Oversees management of lab orders, inventory, and accounts. Provides weekly updates at research laboratory meetings.Research:Works closely with PI(s) in the design and execution of translational studies.Performs in vitro studies which may include cell culture and analysis of various soft tissue specimens. The Research Associate will be responsible for assisting in vivo small animal studies, preparing protocols, and performing harvesting techniques and tissue processing.Clinical studies will involve interaction with HSS personnel for access to clinical supplies, collection of patient samples, and sample processing.The Research Associate will interact with a diverse research team consisting of research assistants, clinical research coordinators, medical students, residents, and fellows.Maintains written standard operating procedures pertaining to laboratory assays.Prepares IACUC protocols for planned experiments.Assists in writing manuscript methodologies and results, as well as grant methodology sections.Performs pertinent literature reviews of current clinical laboratory/research techniques. Qualifications MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS: Education/Training: Master's degree in molecular and cellular biology, pharmacology, biochemistry, or a related field.PhD or MD Required. Experience: 5+ years' experience in basic translational research, laboratory, and mouse handling techniques.Proficient use of computers and software.Experience with data interpretation and analysis.Knowledge of orthopaedic terminology preferred.Qualifications:The candidate must have at least 5 years' experience in Basic Science/Clinical Research.Strong organizational, time-management, presentation, and problem-solving skills as well as excellent written and communication skills. Proficiency in use of computers, software, and Microsoft Office suite.A minimum 24-month, full-time commitment is required. Other Requirements #LI-Onsite Pay Range - Minimum USD $70,000.00/Yr. Pay Range - Maximum USD $77,000.00/Yr.
