In collaboration with the State of Connecticut, Electric Boat offers pre-employment training to get you started on learning the fundamentals of the trade.Job Responsibilities:The Inside Machinist is responsible for:Setup and machining of components on manual and CNClathes, mills, Horizontal Boring machines, multi axis machining centers, wire EDM etc.Precision measurement of part dimensions. Completion of hardcopy and electronic documentation. Work with little to no supervisory experience.You must be able to work and train on all shiftsRequired:Must have a High School Diploma or GED6+ years of experience with CNC Machining, set-up, Programming, or Operating MachinesMust be able to work all shiftsMust know how to read blueprints Preferred:Technical School educationSuccessful completion of the Eastern CT Workforce Investment Board Manufacturing Pipeline Initiative Training ProgramAbility to read and interpret mechanical detail drawings, including GD&T, G&M codes and weld joint symbolingProficiency in the use of precision measuring toolsComputer literacyProficiency in shop mathematicsMust be detail and goal orientedAlways practice a 'Safety First' mentality.
