We are searching for a qualified Golf Course Superintendent at Roscoe Mountain Club. The Roscoe Mountain Club is located in picturesque Roscoe New York approximately two hours north of New York City. The club hosts an 18 hole, par 72, Championship Golf Course. The golf course is part of a larger resort encompassing 1000 acres and boasting magnificent views of the Catskill Mountains. RMC has committed to a long-range golf course reconstruction project including upgrades to all aspects of the facility.Roscoe Mountain Club has collaborated with Troon to assist in managing the facility. As Golf Course Superintendent, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and agronomic practices of the golf course and adjacent grounds, including the clubhouse and resort landscaping. Responsibilities also include overseeing the repair and maintenance of all golf course-related equipment. The superintendent will work closely with all departments of the resort to ensure the success of the entire operation.Ideal candidates have flexible schedules with availability to work weekends and holidays, as needed. The position includes competitive compensation starting at $75,000 depending on experience and qualifications.Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000ResponsibilitiesMaintains all grounds including the golf course, clubhouse surrounds and other maintainable propertySupervises all planting, fertilizing and chemical applications, and other care of turf, plants, shrubs and trees on the golf course and clubhouse surroundsHires, supervises, and develops Assistant Superintendent, foreman, irrigation technician and other employees in the maintenance departmentInforms members about present and future maintenance activitiesCoordinates scheduling of all personnel assigned to the departmentCommunicates frequently with the General Manger and Director of Maintenance to discuss activities, goals, plans and member/customer feedbackPrepares and manages annual budget plan for the golf course maintenance operation on an annual basisMaintains inventory and oversees all repairs and scheduled maintenance of all golf course maintenance equipmentImplements and enforces comprehensive safety program for employees of the maintenance departmentSupervises maintenance and operation of drainage, irrigation, and other mechanical watering systemsDevelops chemical and fertilizing plan on an annual basisEnsures that the golf course is providing healthy and high-quality playing conditions for guests of the propertyPrepares and maintains all recordkeeping for maintenance department (i.e., Human Resource files, inventory files, fertilization, and chemical application logs)Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager Education and Experience Requirements3-5 years turf grass management experience requiredSupervisory, coaching and staff development experience requiredA four-year college degree preferred, but not requiredGCSAA Member preferred, but not requiredKnowledge of budgeting and expense managementKnowledge of local, federal, and state laws and regulations affecting management of golf course operationsMust have a strong business aptitude and passion for the golf businessMust Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skillsMust be highly organized and efficient with a high attention to detailMust have exceptional communication and interpersonal skillsMust have basic computer skills, Word and Excel Working ConditionsRegularly required to reach with hands and armsOften required to stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controlsOccasionally be required to balance, stoop, twist upper body, kneel, and climbMust be able to lift and/or move up to 50lbs occasionallySpecific vision abilities include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, and depth perceptionModerate exposure to extreme cold, heat, working outdoors, chemicals, pesticides, gasoline, vibration, pollen, dust, mechanical hazards, and electrical hazardsNoise level is typically moderate to loudWork extended hours during golf and holiday seasonWork weekends and holidays About Troon Troon started as one facility in 1990 and has since grown to become the world's largest professional club management company.
