Adhere to all policies and procedures in carrying out the responsibilities of this position. Serve as liaison between the Laboratory, transplant centers and dialysis units Develop and maintain process for updating patient information, tracking samples, discrepancies, and communications with transplant centers and dialysis units Maintain information in Histotrac for all patients currently listed for organ transplant at transplant centers in Gift of Hope's donation service area; enter new information as soon as it is available Respond to requests/updates from transplant centers Follow up with transplant centers on missing or discrepant patient information Assist laboratory assistants with monthly sample collection Respond to patient and transplant center inquiries regarding sample availability and collection protocol Review monthly lists from dialysis units; identify missing patients; confirm patient status with transplant centers Check Histotrac for monthly samples from dialysis units; identify missing samples; research and document the reason the sample is missing Provide missing sample reports to transplant centers Generate daily UNOS reports and update the records in Histotrac Track all interactions with transplant centers and dialysis units Identify and implement process improvement initiatives Other duties as assigned Qualifications Education and Training Required The following identifies the minimum education and training required to perform the essential functions of the job. Bachelor's degree preferred, preferably in healthcare-related field, or equivalent experience Minimum 2 years' experience working with medical records Knowledge of medical terminology Experience and Skills Required The following indicates the minimum skills and experience required to perform the essential functions of the job.
