Location: Great Neck, NY Hours: M-F 7:30-5PM (Saturday's when needed) 8am-12pm. What you'll do: The Physical Therapy Director oversees the day-to-day management of the assigned clinic and staff and ensures the delivery of high-quality patient care and service by the staff, including self. The Physical Therapy Director works closely with the Physical Therapy Manager for office planning, growth, and development and is committed to operating the clinic profitably. This role is operationally responsible for 2 sites, with approximately 80% time committed clinically and 20% time committed administratively. Responsibilities/Duties: Clinic Growth and Development Establish and maintain interaction with area physicians through telephone, face to face meetings, newsletters, surveys, referrals, letters, and educational programs Provide leadership and involvement in community programs with local organizations especially related to health, fitness, and sports Properly equip office and gym with regard to quality machines and supplies and ensure a safe and pleasant physical environment Plan strategies for marketing the clinic Participate in after-hours activities relevant to performing assigned job duties Seek out new opportunities for growth and development of the clinic and staff Clinic Operations Maintain a high standard of care for all patients including thorough evaluation, organized treatment plan, specific patient goals, use of appropriate physical therapy procedures and modalities, and formal discharge Perform daily documentation and chart maintenance, meeting practice and third-party standards Will ensure compliance with all private and governmental payer policies regarding the interactions of rehabilitation technicians with patients; supervision of rehabilitation technicians, and payment policies related to rehabilitation technicians/ patient interaction Maintain an ongoing high level of physician relations through written, verbal, and face to face communication Serve as a resource and catalyst for other staff members Oversee general clinic maintenance Implement appropriate practices to enhance the productivity and efficiency of the clinic staff. Lead monthly staff meetings and distribute minutes to appropriate personnel Ensure facility compliance with all Policies and Procedures Management Balance patient care and management tasks, maintaining 8-12 patients per day schedule. Oversee and monitor patient information activity, charges, insurance verification, and authorization, and over the counter collection activities Remain current with the business of outpatient rehabilitation trends, current, and future Know the systems operating within the office and monitor each in their effectiveness. Systems include physician communication, payroll, purchasing, accounts payable, scheduling, patient service, and documentation programs Review end of the month and management reports, be action-oriented with regard to the impact of the information Participate in setting the annual budget and achieve it throughout the fiscal year Set annual goals and objectives and attain them Other duties as requested by supervisor(s) Participate in staffing efforts as it pertains to the facility, selection, orientation, training, and termination Promote continuing education activities and professional organization membership for staff members Maintain and continually develop a "team" spirit within the office and organization Conduct employee performance reviews annually and as needed Coordinate daily schedules, staff coverage, time off requests, and overtime approval. Provide guidance and mentoring to staff Ability to recognize staff accomplishments and motivate staff Who you are: Qualifications: Masters or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy. Active license to practice as a Physical Therapist in New York. Clinical experience in an outpatient setting Supervisory experience or demonstrated progressive management responsibility Current CPR Ability to communicate (verbal and written) and collaborate with a variety of teams and individuals. Working knowledge and ability to apply professional standards of practice in job situations. Strong organizational, prioritizing and analytical skills. Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
