Weston & Sampson is seeking a Resident Project Representative for oversight and inspection of utility and infrastructure projects in Massachusetts. The job is a great opportunity for professional development as part of a team of professional engineers.What you’ll do:The projects will require careful coordination with abutters and the client, contract administration and reporting, and coordination with engineers working in support. The candidate needs to provide a flexible working schedule as project needs arise. Review contract documents and construction management requirements to identify and report degree of Contractor's compliance.Review and evaluate Contractor’s work schedules and updates with the Project Manager.Attend pre-construction meetings; check compliance of shop drawings and other construction modifications; measure the quantities and observe quality of construction; prepare daily records of construction work; record and report problems and failures to comply with contract documents and construction management requirements. With municipality involvement, negotiate claims for extra work/change orders. Maintain, liaison and attend regular site meetings to anticipate construction work, potential problems, progress, and other job-related conditions. Resident Project Engineer shall also review and recommend Contractor’s monthly payment estimates; maintain construction “punch lists:” to be completed or corrected; provide coordination and assistance related to other requirements; supervise subordinate consultant staff and survey crew as appropriate. Some overtime and local travel may be requiredWhat you will bring:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction related field3+ years of experience with horizontal water/sewer/drain, and sewer pump stations and related mechanical workTrenchless rehabilitation experience preferred Survey and design engineering experience is a plusAutoCAD experience a plusExperience with general construction inspection policies, procedures and administrative requirementsWorking knowledge and experience with interpreting contract documents, including compliance with prevailing safety regulationsExcellent public relation, written and verbal communication skills and organizational/time management skillsAbility Prepare and maintain electronic field records efficiently and accurately Ability to work well with contractors, engineers, municipality, and residentsValid driver’s license#LI-HybridInnovative and reliable for more than a century, Weston & Sampson strives to make the world a better place through interdisciplinary design, engineering, and environmental services.
