Start Date: 5/5/2025 Shift: Day - 8x5 - 08AM Duration: 13 weeks Job Title: Physical Therapist Assistant Job Specialty: PTA Home Health Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 5x8-Hour (08:00 - 17:00) Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours/week Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Requires an indirect supervision license Certifications: Associates degree, BLS Must-Have: EPIC experience preferred Job Description: - Performs a program of exercise and treatment for assigned patients as determined by evaluations conducted by the Physical Therapist.- Assists the Physical Therapist during patient testing, evaluations, and complex procedures following professional regulations.- Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate physical therapy activities and achieve established goals.- Ensures compliance with regulations from regulatory agencies and state governing bodies.- Conducts or participates in training medical and nursing staff in physical therapy techniques and objectives.- Utilizes safe patient handling techniques for all patient transfers, lifts, and positioning.- Communicates effectively with supervising Physical Therapist as per practice acts.- Participates in mentoring fellow staff and students, and performs administrative duties as assigned.- Acts as a role model, demonstrating compliance with safety standards and hand hygiene practices.- Communicates using SBAR (Situation, Background, Assessment, Recommendation) method for patient care.- Delivers outstanding customer service, fosters teamwork, and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.- Adheres to ethical and professional standards, supporting the organization's values and performance expectations.- Respects patient privacy and safeguards operational information. Physical Demands: - Standing, walking, and sitting occasionally- Carrying/lifting occasionally (26 to 50 lbs)- Pushing/pulling occasionally (50 lbs)- Kneeling, crouching, and reaching occasionally- Talking and hearing frequently- Repetitive motions and coordination occasionally Working Environment: - Occasional exposure to occupational hazards and bloodborne pathogens- Facility is tobacco and fragrance-free.- Possible care for COVID patients Additional Information: - Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)- Modules generally take 5-6 hours to complete and are completed before the start date.
