Position Type: Transportation/Operations Date Posted: 2/25/2025 Location: Transportation Additional Information: Show/Hide SEGUIN INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT Job Description JOB TITLE: Operations Support WAGE/HOUR STATUS: Non-exempt REPORTS TO: Transportation Coordinator PAY GRADE: Clerical/Tech 5 DEPT/SCHOOL: Student Transportation DAYS EMPLOYED: 226 DATE REVISED: February 2025 PRIMARY PURPOSE: Under the direct supervision of the Coordinator, Operations assists with the overall daily operations of the Transportation Department. This position oversees the Dispatch and Routing to ensure operational effectiveness. Responsible for coordinating and assigning buses and drivers for field trips. Maintains contact between drivers, the transportation office, administrators, and parents. QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Certifications High School graduate/GED Clear and valid Texas CDL license (class B) with passenger and "S" and "P" Endorsements TEA Certified Ability to pass alcohol and drug screen tests. Ability to pass yearly DOT physical. TAPT certifications are preferred or otherwise will to obtain requested certifications as they become available Special Knowledge/Skills: * Ability to establish and adjust routes within the guidelines of TEA and District policies * Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills * Knowledge of school bus laws, rules, and regulations * Ability to receive and give verbal instructions clearly and effectively * Ability to communicate effectively before groups of students, parents, or employees of the district * Ability to multitask * Ability to problem-solve * Capable of responding calmly in emergencies * Ability to maintain a customer-oriented attitude and emotional control under stress * Knowledge of student management * Computer literacy and excellent telephone etiquette skills * Ability to learn all SISD programs (Routing software, GPS, Student tracking, Munis,TEAMS) Experience: * Five years of bus driving experience or related transportation field. * TEA reporting knowledge and managing bus routes. * Two years in a leadership role.
