In this critical role, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle management of BESS projects, including design, development, and implementation of advanced energy storage solutions. This position requires deep technical expertise in BESS systems, strong leadership skills, and the ability to drive collaboration across multidisciplinary teams. Key Responsibilities Project Management: Lead and manage the engineering team through the entire lifecycle of BESS projects, from conceptual design to commissioning and operational handover. System Design and Development: Oversee the design, engineering, and specification of BESS components, ensuring alignment with industry standards, regulatory compliance, and project requirements. Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and oversight on BESS design, control systems, electrical systems, thermal management, and safety standards. Budgeting and Resource Allocation: Develop project budgets, allocate resources effectively, and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Procurement, and Project Management, to ensure project success. Vendor Management: Evaluate, select, and manage relationships with key vendors, contractors, and technology providers for BESS equipment and services. Quality Assurance: Ensure rigorous testing, validation, and quality standards are met throughout the engineering process, focusing on reliability, efficiency, and performance. Team Development: Mentor and develop engineering team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, technical excellence, and innovation. Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred. Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in energy storage, renewable energy, or power systems engineering, with at least 3 years in a management role. Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of BESS design, including electrical, mechanical, and thermal aspects, and experience with key technologies such as Lithium-ion and other advanced chemistries. Software Proficiency: Experience with energy management systems (EMS), supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems, and relevant engineering design software (AutoCAD, PSS/E, ETAP). Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory frameworks, including IEEE, NEC, NFPA, and UL standards. Project Management: Strong project management skills, with experience managing complex technical projects from inception to completion. Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences. Analytical Thinking: Ability to analyze complex engineering problems and develop practical, effective solutions. Leadership: Demonstrated success in leading and motivating teams, with a focus on performance management and development. Innovation Mindset: Proactive in seeking out new technologies and methodologies to improve BESS efficiency, safety, and reliability. Attention to Detail: Strong commitment to quality and precision in engineering work. Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment and adapt to new challenges and technologies quickly.
