Your Purpose Brightline is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Government Affairs to lead the company's efforts in building and maintaining relationships with government officials, regulatory agencies, and community leaders across Florida. This individual will play a critical role in shaping public policy initiatives, securing government support, and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Your Role Government Relations Strategy Develop and execute a comprehensive state and local government affairs strategy aligned with Brightline's business objectives. Build and maintain key relationships with elected officials, government agencies and community leaders in Brightline station and expansion cities. Represent Brightline at public meetings, hearings, and industry events to promote the company's mission and projects. Collaborate with public and private sector partners to secure funding, grants, and policy support. Monitor legislative and regulatory developments, providing timely analysis and recommendations. Identify legislative and regulatory opportunities that advance Brightline's goals, particularly in transportation, infrastructure, and sustainability. Manage lobbying activities and consultants to influence key stakeholders and policymakers. Community Relations Partner with the communications and community outreach teams to address local concerns and build public support for Brightline initiatives. Lead efforts to align Brightline's activities with community priorities. Your Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Public Administration, Law, or a related field. At least 8-10 years of experience in government relations, public affairs, or a related field. Strong understanding of Florida's political and regulatory landscape, with established relationships in key markets. Excellent communication, negotiation, and public speaking skills. Strategic thinking with the ability to analyze complex political and regulatory environments. Strong organizational and leadership abilities to manage multiple priorities and initiatives. Preferred Qualifications Experience in transportation, infrastructure, or economic development sectors is a plus.
