Job Description We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Environmental Engineer/Project Manager to join our Midwest Environmental Market. The ideal candidate will have expertise in managing solid waste projects, encompassing permitting, design, construction, regulatory compliance, and environmental stewardship. This role requires overseeing a wide array of solid waste management initiatives, ensuring strict adherence to environmental regulations, and balancing both short-term and long-term business objectives. Additionally, the position involves supervising engineering staff, engaging in strategic planning, maintaining client relationships, and managing contracts. This position offers a hybrid work arrangement, combining remote work with in-office collaboration. This role will require some travel (primarily day trips) as necessary to oversee project sites and attend meetings. Key Responsibilities: Lead and oversee large-scale solid and hazardous waste management projects, including landfill expansions, gas collection systems, landfill construction, and transfer stations. Direct all aspects of permitting, design, construction, and operations for solid waste facilities and environmental systems. Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources to ensure that all projects are completed on time, within scope, and on budget. Collaborate with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with environmental laws and industry standards. Provide technical expertise in solid waste management, leachate treatment systems, and environmental mitigation projects. Serve as the primary liaison between internal teams, clients, and regulatory bodies, ensuring smooth communication and effective project coordination. Develop and implement corporate sustainability programs that focus on waste reduction, resource recovery, and environmental protection. Lead efforts related to regulatory compliance and governmental affairs, working closely with local authorities and stakeholders. Conduct construction quality assurance (CQA) for waste management projects, including landfill expansions, final covers, and gas extraction systems. Supervise and mentor engineering and project management teams, fostering high levels of performance and professional development. Perform due diligence and resolve issues related to ongoing and future solid waste management projects. Manage contractual relationships and ensure compliance with terms and conditions for each project. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Geology, or a related field. 10+ years of experience in environmental management, specifically in solid waste projects. In-depth knowledge of waste management, sustainability programs, and regulatory compliance. Professional Engineer (PE) or Professional Geologist (CPG) license is a plus. Proven expertise in permitting, design, and construction quality assurance for environmental projects. Experience in construction quality assurance (CQA). Strong understanding of environmental laws, regulations, and industry best practices. Exceptional project management skills, with a proven track record of overseeing large, complex projects across multiple locations. Demonstrated ability to manage teams, budgets, schedules, and client relationships effectively. Ability to develop and execute strategic plans and initiatives that support business growth. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including government agencies, contractors, and clients. Why T&M?
