Chelsea Senior Living is seeking a Director of Resident Engagement to join our dynamic team and enhance the lives of our residents at our beautiful community in Port Washington, NY. If you're passionate about creating meaningful and engaging experiences for seniors, we'd love for you to join us in delivering a holistic lifestyle program that promotes cognitive, cultural, creative, psychological, spiritual, and physical well-being. As the Director of Resident Engagement, you'll play a vital role in developing a stimulating, inclusive, and fun program that promotes social interaction, individual and group pleasure, and physical wellness for our residents. Key Responsibilities: Program Development: Create and implement recreational programs (music, dance, arts and crafts, cultural presentations, nature study, games, and more) to engage residents cognitively, emotionally, and physically. Activity Coordination: Schedule individual, small group, and large group activities, both inside the facility and in the community. Ensure activities are available at least 10 hours per week, including evenings and weekends. Resident Interaction: Foster relationships with residents, learn their preferences, and encourage participation in both active and passive recreational activities. Community Integration: Coordinate transportation and community outreach activities, building relationships that integrate residents into the larger community. Leadership & Supervision: Recruit, train, and supervise recreational staff, volunteers, and visiting community groups. Oversee the department budget, inventory, and supplies. Resident Council: Organize and assist with the monthly Resident Council meeting, addressing resident concerns and promoting communication with the Executive Director. Qualifications: Previous experience in resident engagement, activity coordination, or similar roles in senior living or healthcare is highly preferred. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and schedules. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with residents and staff. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Basic computer literacy and familiarity with software for scheduling and record-keeping. A passion for working with seniors and making a difference in their lives. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
