Role description: Arcadis is looking for a Water Wastewater Engineer / Project Manager to join our Resilience Water Team in Atlanta, Georgia! We offer a flexible hybrid work culture with a balance between remote and in-office work. The candidate in this role will provide technical expertise and leadership to our team of highly skilled engineers, while leading tasks/projects simultaneously and applying technical knowledge and expertise to develop the team's overall capabilities. Projects will include water treatment/drinking water facility engineering, investigations, studies, analysis, designs, and construction administration services. Role accountabilities: As a Water/Wastewater Project Manager you will manage and lead projects/tasks and clients in the planning, design and construction of water and wastewater facilities. Other responsibilities include: Supervising and supporting the work of team members while mentoring junior-level engineering and design/drafting staff. Coordinating and managing the execution of projects in collaboration with other disciplines, office personnel, and management consultants. Developing water and wastewater planning and design initiatives, ensuring all aspects are carried out efficiently and effectively. Preparing comprehensive construction packages for the engineering, procurement, and construction of water systems for clients. Creating detailed cost estimates and project schedules, ensuring all design tasks are completed within budget and on time. Overseeing detailed engineering calculations, leading complex analyses, and utilizing design software to address technical challenges. Producing high-quality deliverables for clients, including technical memoranda, reports, and presentations. Collaborating with national communities of practice and subject matter experts to share knowledge and drive innovation. Working directly with clients to understand their needs and deliver tailored solutions. Building and strengthening relationships with target clients. Some travel may be required for project site visits, client meetings, and overseeing construction activities. Qualifications & Experience: Required Qualifications: 7 years of water/wastewater experience. Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical Engineering or related field. PE License in Georgia or ability to obtain within one year. Key Skills and Attributes: Project experience including design and construction of water treatment and distribution systems and/or wastewater collection and treatment systems. Project leadership experience as Task Manager, Design Lead or Technical Lead on projects of various sizes. Excellent technical engineering skills in the water/wastewater practice area. Strong, clear and concise written and oral communication skills. Excellent technical writing skills and functional experience with MS Office applications. Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related field of study. Technical expertise and experience with water/wastewater treatment projects. Experience with alternative project delivery. Knowledge and experience with the local municipalities in Georgia. Active participation in regional and/or national professional association(s).
