Boys & Girls Club of Whittier Company Overview The Boys and Girls Club of Whittier, California, is a vibrant and dedicated nonprofit organization committed to enhancing the lives of young people in our community. Established with a mission to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens, our Club has been a cornerstone of support and growth for the youth of Whittier for over 55 years. Position Summary: Seeking passionate and dedicated Dance Instructors to join our team on a part-time basis. This role involves teaching dance classes at various school locations in the City of Whittier. As a Dance Instructor, you will be responsible for creating an engaging, supportive, and inspiring learning environment for students of all ages and skill levels. Qualifications: Strong Communication Skills: Ability to clearly and effectively communicate with students, parents, and colleagues. Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrated ability to connect with and motivate students of diverse backgrounds and skill levels. Patience and Adaptability: Skill in managing a classroom environment and adapting teaching methods to meet the needs of each student. Reliable Transportation: Ability to travel between multiple school locations within Whittier. Experience: Previous experience as a dancer or dance instructor is a bonus but not required. We welcome applicants with a passion for dance and a desire to share that passion with others. Preferred Qualities: Positive Attitude: An enthusiastic and encouraging approach to teaching and learning. Creativity: Innovative in lesson planning and choreography, with the ability to think outside the box. Commitment to Growth: A dedication to continuous learning and professional development, staying current with the latest dance techniques and teaching methodologies. Desired: Bachelor's degree, Nonprofit Management, or a related field. Demonstrated ability in working with young people, parents, and community leaders. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Passion for the mission of the Boys and Girls Club and a commitment to youth development. Mandatory CPR and First Aid Certifications. Background Check & Valid State Driver's License.
