Description WSPis currently initiating a search for aStructural Engineering Assistant Vice Presidentfor ourTransportation Team!This position can sit out of ourColumbus, Cleveland, or Cincinnati, OHoffices.This OpportunityProvides subject matter technical support and leadership for multi-site/phase due diligence, investigation, remediation, improvement, and/or construction of building and infrastructure projects in the public and private sector.Responsibilities include the research, design, concept development, planning, and construction of load-bearing structures or structural elements, such as buildings, bridges, roadways, and mechanical structures.Provides situational guidance to PMs and managers that address current and future challenges, and that documentation and recommendations accurately account for and address risk, innovation, and future-ready opportunities.Provides leadership with ensuring that responsibilities are delivered and adhered to with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards for design, safety, structural soundness, and functionality.Duties and Responsibilities:Lead design, plan development tasks and perform structural analysis and design with a concentration on Ohio highway structuresActively maintain project scope, design changes and project budget and schedule while assigned to projectsMentoring, training and developing junior staff and others performing similar workAbility to provide close coordination with others on the project as well as independent QC/QA reviewsVisiting with clients for growing our business and long-term positioning and keeping these clients and other team members well informed of upcoming opportunitiesRepresenting WSP at targeted professional society meetings, including presenting at conferences as appropriate and approvedAnd other duties as assignedWho You AreMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil EngineeringP.E. registration in Ohio and ability to acquire in other states10+ years' experience in bridge engineeringPast experience leading a department or a project teamStrong technical skills in structural analysis and design of various types of bridge structuresAccustomed to working in a team environment on challenging projects and leading design teams in delivering high quality projectsPreferred QualificationsMaster's Degree in Engineering.40-Hour OSHA Health & Safety Training (HAZWOPER) (29 CFR 1910.120) preferred.Basic First Aid and Adult CPR training desired.#LI-MC1
