Job DescriptionFEMA-DisasterRecoverySpecialists (GeotechnicalEngineers)Join the Dewberry Team!Are youlooking for arewarding opportunity tohelp your country with disasterrecoverywork?Dewberry is a leading, market-facing professional services firm withmore50 locationsand 2,500 professionals nationwide.Ouroutstanding employees andmore than 30 years of experience supportingFEMAsetsus apart from our competitors.Dewberry is recognized forprovidingexceptional talent to deliver the highest quality of services to our clients.Our commitment to excellence stems from our high value on personal integrity and from our defining "Dewberry at Work," attributes, that have inspired our employees to be successful for more than a half-century.Asone of our Disaster Specialists,youwillcollaborate withsome ofthe best and brightestin the industry and use yourexpertiseto support critical recovery efforts indisaster-impactedcommunities.Geotechnical Engineers Dewberry is currently searching for highly qualified professionalsto support FEMA's Public Assistance (PA) Program.Candidateswith priorPAexperienceare preferred.Candidates must be U.S. Citizens and able to successfully pass aFederalbackground investigation which includesdisclosingpersonal information such as criminal, credit, residential, employment, social and medical history.Selectedcandidates must be able tocommit to a 6-to-12-month deployment assignment.ResponsibilitiesDisaster Specialiststravel to disastersitesto support FEMA in the delivery of thePAProgram.They assist local government agencies and other Program-eligibleentitiesin the preparationof grant applications for the restoration of damaged public infrastructuresuch asroads, bridges, buildings and utilities.The work includes butisnot limited to site assessments of disaster-damaged infrastructure,documentingdetaileddamagedescriptions, developingrestoration scopes of work,formulatingdetailed cost estimates, andassistingwith hazard mitigationplanning.Required Skills & Required ExperienceBachelor's degree ineitherCivil/Structural/Geotechnical Engineering or related field from an accredited university Minimumof5years of full-time professional experiencein field of study working with public infrastructure Experience with modern construction practices, facility assessments, construction inspection, project scope development and cost estimating Working knowledge of International Building Code(IBC), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and other governmental regulatory compliance Excellent oral and written communication skills Must becomputer literate andproficient with MS Office Suite applications(Word,Exceland PowerPoint) Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment under stressful conditions Ability to workup to12 hours/day, 6 days a week Must have a clean driving record and able tomaintaina valid driver's licensein order tooperatea company, personal, or rental vehiclePreferred Skills and Experience:Knowledge of the FEMA Public Assistance Program Prior FEMA Public Assistance experience as: Program Delivery Manager, Site Inspector,Policy Advisor, Cost Estimator, FEMA Certified Trainer, Hazard Mitigation SpecialistExperience using FEMA's Grants Manager Proficiencyusing cost estimating software such as RS Means and Xactimate*At this time, Dewberry will not sponsor a new applicant for work authorization.*This position is covered by the McNamara-O'Hara Service Contract Act of 1965 (SCA).*Dewberry is an Equal Opportunity/ Affirmative Action Employer.
