Choose from one of our two beautiful Julian properties and join us in leading unforgettable adventures in the great outdoors. Camp Winacka- A traditional rustic camp with spectacular views. The camp features a pool, miles of hiking trails, green building including a new environmental center and two lakes. Campers choose from programs focusing on aquatics, horses, arts and adventure. Campers and staff sleep in open-air cabins with built-in bunk beds, in platform tents with bunk beds or on cots under the stars. Camp Whispering Oak- Features a sports field and basketball court tucked amongst oak and pine trees, unique stargazing venues, abundant wildlife and a small, close-knit camp community. Campers choose from programs focusing on science and space, outdoor skills, sports, theater and the arts. Campers and staff sleep in fully enclosed indoor cabins with electricity and paved, lighted pathways winding through manzanita, oak and pine trees. Your summer will look like this: TheProgram Directorwill be responsible for coordinating the development of camp-wide programs and supervising the staff responsible for managing the various programs offered to campers. Coordinate all camp program and campfire activities with unit directors and other camp staff. Provide general supervision of camp staff in their daily and weekly work, ensuring staff coordinate appropriate programs and activities. Coordinate, plan and facilitate camp-wide events for campers and staff to include, but not limited to, special days, meals, ceremonies, all-camp events and campfires. Collaborate with camp staff to ensure use of facilities, equipment and supplies meet program goals and comply with all safety and camp policies and procedures. Assist with oversight of camp operations, including dining hall operations, to ensure procedures are followed and foster an environment of consistent order to campers and staff; oversight of community chores (kapers) to ensure all units are participating fairly. Collaborate with unit director and program specialist to ensure supplies, equipment and activities for off-camp trips comply with policies and procedures. Work with camp director to develop staff recognition program; ensure development of assigned staff. Complete, submit and collect paperwork, reports, records and evaluations in a timely manner. Attend and facilitate meetings, training sessions, etc. Observe and enforce all health and safety precautions, ensuring compliance with all council and camp safety policies and procedures. Compensation:$124.00/daily rate. Includes room, board, and meals. Here is what it takes: Be at least 21 years of age. Ability to work with children and staff of different ages. At least one season of leading or assisting in the logistical coordination of large-scale program(s). At least one season of supervision experience. Must be willing to work in an outdoor setting and live on camp premises during the summer. Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification, or able to obtain certification before the first day of work. Valid driver's license, proof of insurance and access to reliable transportation (Daily and/or occasional travel may be required. Must be comfortable driving narrow, winding mountain roads with passengers in mini or cargo vans).
