Position Overview This mid-level position within ATLAS SP's accounting team will be responsible for conducting technical accounting research, financial statement reviews and preparation for external distribution and providing technical and general guidance across investment platforms managed by the Company. The Vice President will report and also partner with the Chief Accounting Officer, Director of Fund Accounting and Director of Management Company Accounting to manage critical processes, procedures and strategies, undertaken by the accounting team in support of meeting various reporting needs across all legal entities. This position is a high-visibility role that will communicate with all levels of management, including the Chief Financial Officer, members of the business and company's external auditor. This is a mid-level role in the accounting team, a team that is responsible for staying abreast of accounting rules and providing interpretive guidance to fund controllers, product controllers, and line of business personnel, across the securitized products lifecycle, from warehouse financing to sponsored transactions traded in the secondary market. The role is also responsible for researching and analyzing technical accounting rules, documenting and communicating key conclusions to stakeholders, and providing interpretive guidance to the Company's fund administrator. Primary Responsibilities This role will partner with other members across ATLAS SP's Finance function, including Fund Accounting, Product Control, Strategic Finance, and Treasury to perform and document technical research and provide interpretive guidance on existing and emerging regulatory rules and accounting standards. Additionally, the role reviews new products and complex transactions for compliance with GAAP and IFRS. This role will also be expected to maintain advanced knowledge of GAAP and securitized product offerings and lead in-house training sessions. As a key member of the accounting team, this role will ensure the consistent application of accounting standards across the Company's investment management product offerings. This role will also serve as the key liaison for legal entity ownership inquiries across the firm and accounting requirements associated with each, with opportunities to manage audits of international subsidiaries. Qualification and Experience Minimum of 7+ years of experience, 3+ years in a technical accounting role at a major diversified financial institution or private equity firm, or as a technical accounting specialist at a national accounting firm in an advisory or national office role; prior experience in a financial services audit role at a national accounting firm preferred. Bachelor's degree. CPA, or master's in accounting. Extensive experience with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) (IFRS experience desirable). Experience in assessing transactions under ASC Topic 810 and ASC Topic 860 for measurement and presentation. Understanding ASC Topic 320, ASC Topic 326, ASC Topic 815, ASC Topic 820 and ASC Topic 946. Ability to understand and dissect complex transactions in a timely manner. Extensive experience and knowledge of credit products, securitized products preferable. Experience in preparing, drafting and reviewing financial statements for external distribution. Effective, high energy business partner with the ability to influence, collaborate, and work across the organization, including front office, as well as within the finance organization, including the CFO, CAO, controllers, treasury, tax and other finance leaders. Proven experience to work across teams within the organization to implement accounting standards and lead projects. Strong communication skills including written and oral presentation skills with an ability to interact at different levels of the organization. Self-starter who can identify issues and offer solutions that consider the needs of multiple stakeholders. Excellent time management and organization skills. Base Salary Range $160,000-$200,000 The base salary range for this position is listed above. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based on personal, team, and Firm performance. Compensation ranges are based on several factors including job function, level, and geographic location.
