Job Details We are seeking an enthusiastic line cook at Purple Waves, a vibrant, welcoming cafe and wine bar. Position Overview: Purple Waves is seeking a dynamic and experienced cook to join our culinary team. As a cook, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our menu, ensuring the highest quality of food, and promoting sustainable practices. Responsibilities: ● Implement daily operations, including food preparation, cooking, presentation, and daily inventory management ● Assist in implementing and promoting sustainability initiatives such as waste reduction, local sourcing, and circularity in the kitchen. ● Comply with health and safety regulations, as well as food safety standards.. Qualifications: ● Proven experience as a cook or similar role in a restaurant or cafe setting. ● Understanding and appreciation of sustainability, circularity, waste elimination, and local sourcing practices strongly preferred. ● Ability to work alongside a diverse team of kitchen professionals. ● Excellent organizational and communication skills. ● Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations. ● Applicants from our neighbourhood and community are strongly preferred.
