Building a sustainable tomorrowBAM Ritchies are seeking a Geotechnical Engineer in ground investigation to manage and perform site-based works spanning the Northern half of the UK. You should have an academic background in either Geology or Civil Engineering, with experience in the field of ground investigation and site management (a blend of practical and technical).The base of operations will be our office at Glasgow, Scotland, reporting to the Project Manager for Ground Investigation with site works throughout Scotland and North of England.Your missionAs a Geotechnical Engineer, you will be responsible for the following:Maintain high personal safety and environmental standardsDeveloping and maintaining a good working relationship with the customer, their design team and supply chainPlanning and preparation for ground investigations projects, either independently or as part of a team for larger projectsLeading and managing the site works (for appropriately sized projects), ensuring high levels of commitment, morale and motivation at all levelsEnsure implementation of BAM safety procedures including preparation, briefing and review of activity plans and risk assessments.Soil and rock logging to relevant standardsIn-situ testing of ground conditionsManagement of samples and laboratory dataPreparation of factual reportsFinancial control of projects, ensuring timely reporting and management of the invoicing processIdentification of commercial and technical change and addressing these issues with the customerWho are we looking for?You should have an academic background in either Geology or Civil Engineering with experience in the field of ground investigation and site supervision / management (a hearty blend of practical and technical).The following are prerequisites for the role:Technically strong in ground investigation as well as practically aware.Experience of various ground investigation drilling techniques.Competence in site supervision or preferably management.Competence in buried and overhead services clearance.Ability to communicate effectively at all levelsPreferably the candidate will have the following (although training is available to achieve):CSCS card holder.SMSTS holder.PTS holder .Professional accreditation to ICE, IOM3 or GeolSoc.What's in it for you?Competitive salaryA wide range of family-friendly policiesCompany car / car allowance / travel allowance8 % matched pension contributionsPrivate healthcareLife assurance26 days holiday2 wellbeing days1 volunteering dayPersonal and professional developmentBAM Ritchies are committed to equality of opportunity in all its employment practices, and to developing policies that support work-life balance.Who are we?The art of building is about building for communities; it's about building for life.Where others stop, we go further, leading the way towards a sustainable tomorrow for us and future generations.
