HVAC and Plumbing Engineer - Mechanical Engineer Level 5 Job Summary: Talent Software Services is in search of an HVAC and Plumbing Engineer for a contract position in Overland Park, KS. The opportunity will be six months with a strong chance for a long-term extension. Position Summary: Seeking an experienced HVAC and Plumbing Engineer to work on a diverse range of building configurations. The candidate will perform design engineering, analysis, and studies for both new and existing structures under general supervision. Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities: The Mechanical Buildings Design Group provides HVAC and plumbing solutions for global projects. The Mechanical Engineer Level 5 will be responsible for the engineering and design of HVAC and plumbing systems for various facility types. Design and Construction Activities: Project Delivery Methods: Traditional Design-Bid-Build and Alternative Conceptual-Bid-Build Facility Types: Power generation buildings, substations, oil & gas structures, water treatment, and energy storage buildings Systems: HVAC and plumbing systems Facility Areas: Power Generation Hall Administrative Offices Warehouses Maintenance and Workshop Areas Laboratories Chemical Storage & Handling Areas Electrical Distribution Centers Low & Medium Voltage Switchgear Rooms Pump Areas Engine Generator Rooms Blowers/Air Compressors Areas Wastewater Treatment Buildings Flammable & Combustible Liquids Storage Areas Studies: Energy Audits & Efficiency: Conduct engineering studies, system performance reviews, and energy compliance calculations. Code Review & Application: Perform facility reviews for code compliance. Sustainable Design/LEED: Implement sustainable design strategies and ensure compliance with LEED standards. Typical office and fieldwork environments may apply depending on project needs.> Collaborates effectively with cross-functional teams.> Communicates clearly and professionally.> Directs work and drives project delivery.> Instills trust and demonstrates integrity.> Shows interpersonal and organizational savvy.> Maintains a customer-focused approach.> Exercises sound decision-making and judgment.> Qualifications: Computer-generated HVAC heat loads, energy modeling, and HVAC equipment sizing. Experience in technical submittal and bid review processes. Extensive experience with large-scale water-cooled chillers is highly preferred. Proficiency in the following software tools: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) Bluebeam Revu Revit 3D Modeling Certifications:> LEED AP Certified Professional with experience in obtaining LEED certifications for industrial buildings. Professional registration or licensure is preferred or active pursuit of such registration. Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited program. Experience: Minimum of 7 years of related work experience. Onboarding Requirements: Must complete pre-employment checks, which may include: Criminal/Civil Background Check Drug Screening Motor Vehicle Records Search (as per applicable laws and regulations) Preferred: Self-motivated with strong problem-solving skills and a drive for results. Excellent written communication and strong listening skills. Quality-focused with attention to detail. Intermediate knowledge of HVAC and plumbing engineering design principles and applicable standards.
