ARPA-H - Enterprise Data Modeling and Ontologies Data Scientist Amentum is looking for experienced personnel to expand our healthcare technology development support capabilities at the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H). Founded in 2022, ARPA-H is a Federal research funding agency that supports transformative biomedical and health breakthroughs - ranging from the molecular to the societal - to provide health solutions for all. ARPA-H advances high-potential, high-impact biomedical and health research that cannot be readily accomplished through traditional research or commercial activity to develop solutions to society's most challenging health problems. Amentum is seeking a highly experienced and accomplished Data Scientist with an Enterprise Data Modeling and Ontologies background, supporting leadership personnel at a Federal or State agency or major private sector company. In this position, candidates will play a critical role in supporting ARPA-H programs by leveraging their deep expertise in Enterprise Data Modeling and Ontologies to provide expert guidance and technical leadership on advanced technology development efforts. You will work closely with ARPA-H program managers and collaborate with top researchers in government and industry. Responsibilities: Manage and maintain ARPA-H's enterprise data models, including the development and evolution of Entity-Relationship Diagrams (ERDs) Develop and maintain scientific ontologies to represent and organize knowledge within ARPA-H's health technology domain Act as the primary interface to the ontology community, collaborating with external experts and contributing to ontology development efforts Ensure alignment between enterprise data models and scientific ontologies Provide guidance and support to ARPA-H programs on data modeling and ontology utilization Contribute to the development of data governance policies and procedures Stay abreast of emerging trends and best practices in data modeling and ontology engineering Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in a related field 10 years of experience in data modeling and ontology development Experience working with ontology development tools and platforms Extensive experience in enterprise data modeling and the creation of Entity-Relationship Diagrams (ERDs) Strong understanding of data management principles and best practices Excellent communication and collaboration skills Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Public Trust Clearance. Preferred Qualifications: Masters Degree in a related field Familiarity with common biomedical data models (e.g., OMOP, PCORnet) and semantic web technologies (e.g., RDF, OWL) Knowledge of healthcare data standards and terminologies ARPA-H experience Other ARPA agency (DARPA, IARPA, ARPA-E, etc.) experience National Institute of Health (NIH), Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), or Department of Defense (DoD) experience Experience in a R&D environment The ARPA-H campus is located in McPherson Square in Washington DC. Hybrid and telework options are likely, but residence within the Washington, DC metropolitan area is desired.
