Join the team with an amazing history and a great future! Role: The Sr. Material Planner is a professional career opportunity for an experienced (min. 5 years) material planner. The role is responsible for the supply of materials required to meet the production schedule and to maintain minimum stock levels for operational and production continuity. The incumbent will develop, implement, and support supply chain strategies and processes that deliver efficient, effective, and flexible solutions that meet production and operational requirements. The Sr. Material Planner will act as the material planning subject matter expert. The incumbent works collaboratively and cross-functionally with external and internal stakeholders on a variety of material planning and supply chain issues. The Senior Material Planner schedule is Monday - Friday, 8 am-5 pm, and reports to the Manager of Supply Chain- Procurement. Essential Duties and Accountabilities: Own material planning activities to ensure production materials are available to meet dynamic production schedules timely and within cost parameters. Continually and proactively analyze and evaluate inventories and make required adjustments to ensure sufficient materials are available to support the production schedule. Generate, review, and monitor purchase orders to ensure continuous flow of materials.Is a strong SAP user effectively, using technology to support and carry out all duties and responsibilities. Develop and execute supply strategies to ensure an uninterrupted supply of assigned materials.Maintain high-level communications with external supply chain suppliers, vendors, and partners to ensure strong relationship exists to meet cost-effective production material flow and availability. Work collaboratively across functions and departments to maintain a high level of communication relating to material availability and flow to meet production requirements. Identify potential short & long-term supply risks and recommend supply chain strategies to mitigate supply risks.Provide procurement/supply-chain leadership and guidance as subject matter expert for internal and external stakeholders.Promote "win-win" opportunities for Morgan Foods, Inc. and all supply partners. Travel: Core Physical Requirements: Sitting, Standing, Using hands, fingers, & wrists to type on computer keyboard (frequent); Walking, Climbing stairs, Reaching overhead; Bending (Infrequent); Communicate in English using computer and telephone equipment (frequent). Working Environment: Office - Primary (Climate controlled); Plant & Other environments - Secondary, (Not climate controlled). Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Attributes: BA/BS Degree with business, supply chain, finance, or logistics concentration. MBA, desired Minimum 5 years' material planning and/or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in food manufacturingISM certification desired or ability to successfully attain certification if requiredComputer proficiency with Microsoft Suite at an advanced levelDemonstrated experience and proficiency with SAP, and Ariba, with IBP, PPDS, TraceGains experience desired Strong analytical capability Demonstrated problem-solving skills with emphasis on the ability to determine root cause and implement sustained corrective actions. Excellent communication skills (verbal, negotiations, technology, and written). Proactive and motivated to take ownership of areas within the scope of control.
