Base pay range $110,000.00/yr - $150,000.00/yr The EHS Director will be primarily responsible for managing the Company's safety initiatives and safety loss control programs. The successful candidate will also enforce the implementation of a safety and risk management culture dedicated to being "best in class". Responsibilities Communicates the company's safety vision, policies, and procedures to foster a strong safety culture. Implements safety policies and incident prevention strategies. Analyzes and improves safety solutions using logic and reasoning. Ensures compliance with internal and external safety training requirements. Manages the company's loss control program, including workers' compensation and liability claims. Liaises with insurance carriers and legal teams for claims management. Acts as the corporate contact for OSHA and other regulatory authorities. Leads the Safety Committee and develops annual safety plans and budgets. Oversees the employee recognition program for safety achievements. Prepares and presents monthly safety reports to management. Manages hazard assessments by conducting site inspections, ensuring subcontractor safety compliance, reviewing pre-qualifications, and enforcing regulatory requirements (OSHA, NYC DOB, FDNY, etc.). Oversees safety paperwork, monitors ODIN for worker onboarding, and leads incident reporting, investigations, and root cause analysis. Educational and Professional Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Health & Safety, Safety Management, Construction Management or related field. Minimum 5 years of experience managing & leading a structured safety program; self-performing general contractor or specialty contractor preferable. NYC Safety Training - Minimum OSHA 30 / DOB Training Connect SST Appropriate OSHA certifications (including 40-hour Hazwoper) In depth technical knowledge of construction related OSHA, federal, state, and local regulatory standards, and ability to recognize hazardous situations and implement effective corrective practices. Exceptional organizational and multi-tasking abilities. Ability to prioritize multiple demands in a fast paced, changing work environment. Detail-oriented professional with strong critical thinking and interpersonal skills who exercises sound judgment in decision making and complex problem-solving. Commitment to excellence and passionate about EH&S, consistently set stretch goals and demonstrate persistence to achieve them.
