Your journey starts now-protect and innovate with ManTech! ManTech seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Falcon Deputy Chief Engineer to join our team in El Segundo, CA. This is a hybrid position with 4 days onsite and 1 day remote; subject to change depending on customer requirements. We are seeking an experienced and energetic Falcon Deputy Chief Engineer to co-lead our world-class team to support the United States Space Force (USSF)/Space Force Space Systems Command (SSC), AATS/AALF executing the National Security Space Launch (NSSL) Program ensuring Falcon family launch vehicles meet requirements for NSS satellite mission launch services. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Strong background and experience in Aerospace and Launch Vehicles with demonstrated independence, initiative and dedication to proactive problem solving. Demonstrated competency with MS Office products, and collaborative software products such as MS SharePoint-type databases and Information Systems databases. Proficient in using Confluence to include establishing, maintaining, and publishing new pages/reports and interfacing with Jira and Microsoft products. Must also actively adopt new learning techniques and tools. Demonstrated proficiency in the ability to work cohesively with team members and other teams as needed, as well as sound judgment, effective decision-making, successful collaboration with multiple agencies and personnel. Lead a team of Falcon Project Engineers and provide management interface with a multi-disciplined team consisting of multiple Contractors, Vendors, FFRDC, and Space Force team members and be able to execute successfully in a fast-paced environment. Assist the Falcon Chief Engineer in managing weekly and daily products delivered by ManTech as the Systems Engineering & Integration contractor to the Space Force. Assist the Space Force customer in responding to higher headquarters-level taskers, Program-level special projects, etc. Maintain situational awareness of all New Entrant certification activities and share lessons learned to ensure consistency in evaluation across all New Entrants. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Systems/Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering preferable. A Bachelor's Degree in other STEM fields may also be considered. 12+ years' experience as Systems Engineer, technical project engineer or related areas in relevant fields. 3+ years of NSSL, Launch/Range, DoD, NASA, or industry equivalent launch or space systems project engineering experience Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience working at Space & Missile Systems Center (SMC), now Space Systems Command (SSC), or other USG agencies. Familiarity with Falcon family launch vehicles, processing and operations. Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills, interpersonal skills, organizational skills, and oral and written communication skills. Current PMP Certification or equivalent Clearance Requirements: Clearance not required to start but must be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense TS/SCI security clearance. Physical Requirements: Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer. Frequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. The projected compensation range for this position is $114,100.00-$191,100.00. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
