Job Summary: The International Shipping Agent position navigates complex company policy and legal guidelines to ensure that international shipments are delivered safely and efficiently. A typical day as an International Shipping Agent consists of reviewing and processing shipments slated for international delivery, reviewing and applying international hazmat standards, and generating invoices as appropriate for international customers. The International Shipping Agent also frequently assists other warehouse employees with domestic shipments as needed. The International Shipping Agent reports to the Warehouse Shipping Supervisor and may report to the Knox or Ridge Warehouse depending on volume and business needs. Responsibilities: Verify shipping department received correct items for orders and pack all orders for international shipment Perform Denied Party Screenings usig Tradeflow when applicable Liaise between accounting and sales teams to procure export filing documentation for international shipments Liaise with SHI and Customer Freight Forwarders to procure booking details for Export Filings documentation in regard to international shipments Maintain current knowledge on all international regulations and processes for shipping Attend International Shipping training sessions Complete all necessary paperwork needed for each specific order and destination Arrange carrier pickups for international orders Ensure processes and procedures are current and that the company is in compliance in collaboration with International Logistics Ops Manager Acquire and maintain Hazmat certification Qualifications: High school or equivalent education Must be able to communicate (verbal/written) in English Ability to operate a computer and navigate in a Windows based platform Ability to move or lift up to 50 pounds Minimum 2 years of experience working in a warehouse shipping department Hazmat certified (required to be obtained within first 60 days of employment) Required Skills: Ability to work in a fast paced environment Ability to take direction and follow instructions Ability to be detail-oriented Ability to complete tasks with accuracy and efficiency Ability to work independently or part of a team Ability to show initiative to complete tasks without direct instruction Ability to understand and apply management feedback Ability to demonstrate professional attitude Ability to multi task and prioritize work Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) Excellent critical thinking skills Preferred skills: MS Office suite skills Unique Requirements: Overtime and weekend work are available, and may be required throughout the year Position requires the ability to move or lift up to 50 pounds Additional Information: The estimated hourly pay range for this position is $18.75 - $25.00 plus a quarterly bonus. The compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual.
