Job Summary: Real Chemistry is looking for an Associate Medical Director to join our Rad Science team with the goal of producing creative and compelling scientific content and innovative digital experiences. This unique team includes dozens of scientists and artists specifically trained in illustration, animation, interactive media, and immersive experiences, turning complex scientific messages into simple, memorable stories through congress experience and scientific visualization. As part of the Rad Science team (a part of Real Chemistry), Associate Medical Directors are responsible for supporting multiple initiatives as a strategist, researcher, and writer of technical scientific/medical content. This is a hybrid role, based in any of our US offices-including New York City, Boston, Chicago, Carmel, or San Francisco-or remotely within the US, depending on team and business needs. What you'll do: SCIENTIFIC EXPERTISE: Provides strategic scientific guidance to internal and client teams Acts as a 'content expert' by maintaining scientific understanding of specific disease/disorder pathways and therapeutic areas to provide strategic scientific guidance to internal teams Uses scientific understanding of specific disease/disorder pathways and therapeutic areas to incorporate edits requested by clients, thought leaders, and/or internal reviewers Actively participates in relevant presentations and client reviews to strategically discuss content, including negotiating feedback, providing rationale for content decisions, and troubleshooting requested changes SCIENTIFIC CONTENT DEVELOPMENT: Utilizes scientific knowledge to develop scientifically robust content that aligns with strategic objectives. Independently develops scientific/medical content, with minimal oversight from scientific strategy leadership, for a variety of deliverables. Deliverables can include presentation decks, visual illustrations, scientific narratives/scripts for animations and interactive media, engagements for scientific congress meetings, and materials for new business and organic growth opportunities Summarizes key scientific communication points succinctly and accurately as well as craft scientific messaging Develops familiarity with client requirements and brand guidelines and applies this knowledge when developing content Proactively incorporates AMA 11 guidelines into all scientific content Performs thorough literature searches to identify appropriate data sources to support content development and key medical claims Supports submission of deliverables by verifying accuracy of scientific content against data sources and completes fact checks, develops annotations, and builds reference packs TEAM PARTNERSHIP: Collaborates with internal and client teams to establish relationships and demonstrate our scientific prowess Collaborates with scientific strategy leadership on content development and departmental processes Partners with account leadership to align on strategic objectives, approach, and pull-through into all deliverables Works with creative team on relevant projects to translate scientific content into visual concepts and assists with creative ideation as needed Provides overall scientific strategy support to the team Cultivates strong relationships with client team members by demonstrating the value as a trusted scientific partner SCIENTIFIC PROJECT MANAGEMENT: Partners with project management team(s) to ensure projects are delivered on time Manages workflow for assigned projects to meet associated deadlines and deliver within budget Proactively flags for project management when projects are in jeopardy of missing deadlines and/or are outside of original scope Maintains a solution-oriented approach, proactively finding answers when challenges are presented Partners closely with project management and/or senior members of the cross-functional team to align on proposed solutions Actively participates in the development of cost estimates and staffing grids for relevant projects This position is a perfect fit for you if: Our Company values - Best Together, Impact-Obsessed, Excellence Expected, Evolve Always and Accountability with an "I" - really speak to you. Education & Requirements Advanced degree in biomedical sciences: PhD, PharmD, or MD 4-5 years of relevant industry experience or equivalent Oncology experience strongly preferred Strong scientific foundation with capability to become familiar with multiple therapeutic areas and therapies Solid understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, MLR guidelines, and FDA practices Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Familiarity with Adobe Acrobat is highly desirable Desired Skills and Behaviors Strong scientific background and ability to research and understand complex scientific concepts, and summarize them succinctly and accurately Ability to interpret data and provide strategic scientific direction to clients Detail-oriented and able to multitask to effectively manage a variety of ongoing projects Working knowledge of clinical or preclinical research principles, regulatory affairs, and biostatistics Familiarity with AMA referencing guidelines Problem solver and collaborator who takes initiative to provide insights to cross-functional teams Ability to work and thrive in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment Strong work ethic and is eager to learn from an experienced, strategically creative team Maintains professional manner in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong interpersonal skills and a team player Ability to work remotely and remain motivated: a self-starter Pay Range: $130,000 - $150,000 This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on job-related, non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, skills, certifications, and geographical location.
