This is professional work supervising and directing employees. The primary duty of the incumbent in this position is to spend the majority of their time communicating with, motivating, training and evaluating employees, planning and directing their work; and having the authority to effectively recommend actions such as: hire, transfer, suspend, layoff, promote, discharge, assign, and reward or discipline direct reports. Evaluates employees against established standards and takes appropriate actions when necessary (i.e. recognition, reward, corrective action, etc.).Manages the in-service training unit; oversees the training budget and approves/processes vouchers, invoices and requisitions.Monitors and ensures accomplishment of programmatic and managerial goals and objectives for the above-mentioned unit.Manages and delivers in-service training for all child protective investigators (CPI).Conducts special quality assurance reviews upon request.Investigates special incidents and/or complaints regarding Department programs.Coordinates with Region Leadership in the development and implementation of corrective actions in order to improve service delivery.Administers the assessment of staff development needs and securing needed in service training.Oversees and tracks certification process; ensures successful Florida Certification Board Child Welfare Professional Provisional and Full Certification passage rate of 95% per each CPI Pre-Service Class.Administers the assessment of staffing needs and, when vacancies occur, provides consultation to the Program Administrators and line supervisors in screening, interviewing and hiring of direct service employees.Coordinates and facilitates community trainings, when requested.Provides case consultation when needed or requested.Provides in-service professional development training and oversees the coordination of external professional development training.Serves as a mentor and a lead on retention initiatives.Establishes and maintains an effective working relationship with governmental officials and community service organizations.Represents the Region on related workgroups.Attends and participates in community projects/recruitment/retention/professional development opportunities and initiatives.Supervises Field Support Consultants and Family Services Specialists and analyzes trends in the field to determine and develop ongoing in-service trainings.Effectively tracks data related to CPI investigation trends, Request for Action, Priorities of Effort.Analyzing Data, Tracking Regional Initiatives and action plans and reporting progress to the FSPO and OM.Develop and implement rewards and recognition programs.Provides training and technical assistance as needed to all levels of protective investigations staff and ensures compliance with the processes and procedures.Completes data analysis regarding performance measures and outcomes and provides information to FSPO and Operations Teams for ongoing Result Oriented Accountability.Development, tracking and implementation of retention and team building activities.Other Duties as requested.Knowledge, skills and abilities, including utilization of equipment, required for the position:Knowledge of the methods of data collection and analysis.Knowledge of basic management principles and practices.Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data to develop alternative recommendations, solve problems, document workflow and other activities relating to the improvement of operational and management practices.Ability to organize data into logical format for presentation in reports, documents, and other written materials.
