Material Planner (Buyer) Pay Rate/Range: $36.00 to $42.00 DOE Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Location: Santa Clara, C Duration: 1 year Key Responsibilities: Planning & Procurement: Execute daily, weekly, and monthly tasks to meet operational objectives. Place and manage purchase orders (POs) to support manufacturing and external customer needs. Ensure timely supplier confirmations and expedite POs based on Material Requirements Planning (MRP). Source from complex suppliers, primarily single and sole-source providers. Maintain accurate planning and purchasing master data for purchased materials. Supplier & Stakeholder Coordination: Negotiate with suppliers to resolve issues, expedite deliveries, and address quality concerns. Maintain clear communication with suppliers and internal stakeholders to optimize supply chain efficiency. Confirm product availability and negotiate alternative solutions when necessary. Collaborate with production planners, warehouse staff, and other departments to ensure timely material availability. Process Optimization & Problem-Solving: Analyze problems, develop solutions, and coordinate with internal departments for issue resolution (e.g., quantity discrepancies, invoicing issues). Perform routine system updates, such as Open Order Report accuracy, PO adjustments, and supplier on-time delivery (OTIF) scorecards. Reconcile lead times across systems for supply reliability. Identify and implement improvements in communication and supplier management. Qualifications & Skills: Experience & Education: Minimum Experience: 2 years of hands-on experience in materials planning or procurement. Education: Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred. Key Competencies: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to analyze problems and develop effective solutions. Excellent negotiation and communication skills for supplier interactions. Proficiency in MRP systems and supply chain best practices. Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams. Flexibility, accountability, and a strong work ethic.
