PURPOSE The purpose of the Supply Chain Coordinator is to control delivery performance, operational efficiency, and inventory performance to company policy. The supply chain coordinator makes sure that purchasing and inventory requests are completed on time. A key responsibility for this role is to work closely with other departments to coordinate the inventory needs of the company's very large and diverse product offering as well as execute and monitor the company's inventory purchases. Inventory decisions will be executed based on historical sales trends, factory component usage, customer forecasts, new product planning, and product obsolescence. ESSENTIAL DUTIES Support inventory control for a broad product line of control and industrial automation products manufactured domestically in the U.S. and also at several global production facilities Coordinate inventory levels and product demand to support reorder levels and safety stock levels that will improve product availability Support new product introductions and support make-vs-buy throughout the product life cycle Work closely and effectively with other key functional areas in the company, including production scheduling, product management, purchasing, and warehouse Enable positive communication between multiple functions in the company as well as our network of distributors and large customers Adherence to all company policies and procedures as they relate to inventory Execute basic to advanced workflow tasks on established SMC systems Recommend countermeasures for slow-moving inventory Communicate with the salespeople and managers to insure the integrity of all inventory-related processes Cross-train on all key Supply Chain processes as defined and outlined in department work instructions Any other inventory-associated tasks that might be assigned by the Supply Chain Manager All other duties as assigned PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT Office environment, sustained posture in a seated position for long periods International travel may be required 10% or less of time is travel.
