Position Title: Assistant Dean/Senior Assistant Dean of Graduate Recruitment, School of Education Position Number: 897452 Position Category: Administration School/Division: School of Education Full-Time or Part-Time: Full-Time Description: Reporting to the Dean of Graduate Admission and Dean of the School of Education (SOE), the Assistant Dean/Senior Assistant Dean supports academic departments to attract and enroll the most qualified graduate students for the Office of Graduate Admission in Enrollment Management. Additional hours may be required in the evenings and weekends in support of special projects, travel, and events. This is a full-time, onsite position; work for this role is performed on campus. Candidates must be willing and able to organize and handle all aspects of administration and adhere to the rules and regulations of Hofstra University, the Colonial Athletic Conference, and the NCAA. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Recruits and manages the application process for all graduate SOE students from the time they are prospective students through enrollment for their first semester. Completes programmatic assignments for recruitment and application review, working with Department Chairs and Program Directors for timely admission decisions. Develops and implements enrollment strategies. Evaluates and reports outcomes with analytical, fiscal, and other regular and ad hoc reports to inform the administration and improve processes. Attends and assists at Information Sessions, Graduate Open Houses, New Student Orientation, and other admission related events on campus and in the local region. Represents Hofstra University at education fairs, universities and professional conferences. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications: Bachelors degree required. At least one year of relevant professional experience. Valid drivers license. Strong skills in strategic planning and data analysis. Excellent communication, analytical, and presentation skills. Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Excellent organizational, administrative, and customer service skills. Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with other areas within the University, particularly with members of the Deans Office, Department Chairs and Program Directors. Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment. Excellent computer skills and superior proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Preferred Qualifications: Masters degree preferred. Two to three years of experience in higher education and experience supporting academic units.
