For over 125 years, Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens has been providing quality social services to the neighborhoods of Brooklyn and Queens, and currently offers 160-plus programs and services for children, youth, adults, seniors, and those struggling with mental illness. One of every five families in the United States suffers from serious housing deprivation. They either live in physically inadequate buildings, suffer from severe overcrowding, or spend an excessive proportion of their income for shelter. Housing costs have increased to the point that millions of families cannot obtain decent housing unless they deprive themselves of other essentials of life. Our Catholic tradition insists that shelter is one of the basic rights of the human person. The Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens POP Development real estate portfolio is managed by POP management, our in house property management company. POP Management is the largest provider of affordable housing in Brooklyn & Queens STATEMENT OF THE JOB: The Property Manager III is responsible for providing a safe and secure environment for 350 or more Units facilitating and directing a team approach to coordinate the operations of real estate and property management in a designated cluster of housing buildings managed by POP Management. The Property Manager III is responsible for ensuring buildings are physically maintained in compliance with all regulatory requirements, including HPD, HUD REAC, Division of Housing & Community Renewal (DHCR), tax credit and other applicable building and fire codes. The position is responsible for operating the designated buildings within budget. The position is the leader for ensuring all supports (facilities, fiscal, and compliance & tenant support services) are appropriately engaged by POP Management as well as the wider CCBQ Agency network. The Property Manager III will ensure the Agency Mission and Strategic Goals are upheld and modeled for other staff, while also promoted to tenants and the broader community in which our programs work. Provide leadership to staff in creating a positive living environment for tenants, including responding to tenant requests in a timely and professional manner. Develop on-going maintenance work and monitoring plan to ensure facility is properly maintained and is in compliance with fire safety and sanitation regulations. Conduct walk through' s and create reports with facilities team to ensure all buildings under the Property Manager's responsibility are properly maintained and the facility needs at sites are appropriately noted, planned for and addressed. Collaborate with Facilities staff to ensure buildings are audit ready at all times and represent the best of the Agency's building standards. QUALIFICATIONS: Master's Degree or Bachelor's degree with an additional two years related experience and familiarity with affordable housing for seniors. Three + years demonstrated housing experience 2-4 years' experience training/supervising staff Bilingual Spanish/English; speaking preferred. Able to travel to multiple locations within the five boroughs as needed.
