Job DescriptionJob Title: Body Technician Helper Department: Body shop Reports to: Body shop Manager FLSA Status: Non-exempt Prepared by: Chris Shakoor SUMMARY Assists with repairs to damaged body parts and bodies of vehicles in accordance with factory and dealership specifications and time standards. ESSENTIAL DUTIES Essential duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Assists body technician in repairing vehicle per estimate and according to manufacturer standards. Checks parts against estimate and ensure proper parts are received. Prepares vehicles for body repair work. Maintains tools and equipment in a proper state of repair. Maintains and wears all required safety and health personal protective equipment in the manner recommended by the equipment manufacturer. Complies with all laws and regulations pertaining to hazardous materials. Cooperates and assists other personnel in the repair and prepping of vehicles. Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position has no supervisory responsibilities. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. One to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. MATHMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide. Ability to perform these operations using weight measurement and volume. REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. CERTIFICATES, LICENSE, AND REGISTRATIONS Valid Driver's License Manufacturer Training PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
