Summary Reporting to the Senior Vice President for Student Experience and Enrollment Management, the Dean of Admissions oversees the recruitment and enrollment of undergraduate students: first year, transfer and international. The Dean develops and implements appropriate student recruitment strategies to achieve goals. Requirements Essential Job Functions Develop and implement plans and strategies to recruit and yield first-year, transfer and international students to meet campus financial, academic and demographic short and long-term enrollment goals. Oversee the application and enrollment process. Review and evaluate admissions criteria; recommend changes, as needed. Create informed policies and procedures to ensure excellent student services throughout the enrollment cycle. Hire, mentor and supervise a professional staff, creating and fostering an atmosphere of facilitating professional opportunities to improve individual capability and managing performance against job accountabilities, department goals and established SMC, campus and department policies and procedures. Plan and conduct regular staff meetings. Plan and manage territories. Establish and develop relationships with external organizations, including community college partners and college bound organizations, in addition to other established partnership opportunities. Align institutions to build student pipelines through these organizations. Represent SMC at educational fairs and conferences, high schools and community colleges in support of student recruitment. Build out a communication plan for prospective student applicants, parents and advisors, to facilitate the admissions process. Plan and collaborate with Marcom to create print publications, digital marketing, and social media. Plan and collaborate with campus partners to enhance and execute recruitment and yield plans and strategies to ensure student quality, diversity, and revenue goals are met. Evaluate activities and strategies for effectiveness and return on investment. Make informed, data-driven recommendations to improve efficacy of recruitment efforts. Provide reports and analyses to campus partners, as requested. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Masters of the Arts degree. Eight years of experience working in Admissions/ Higher Education. Valid U.S. driver's license. Ability to travel and work evenings and weekends frequently throughout the calendar year. Familiarity with territory management, including goal-setting and process reengineering. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, Slate. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be persuasive but diplomatic when representing SMC. Strong understanding of customer needs and the ability to tailor recruitment efforts to meet those needs. High level of attention to detail. Preferred Qualifications Six years of experience working in Admissions Leadership. Please Note: Qualified candidates must be available to work on campus upon hire. Salary Description $170,000
