We are seeking an experienced and quality-driven Heavy Equipment Mechanic to fill an open position at our landfill. Responsibilities: • Help establish service protocols for tracking the status of repairs, maintaining relevant technical manuals, using charts, and more for all of our dealerships Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Performs all work in accordance with established safety policies and procedures. • Performs minor repairs and assigned preventive maintenance services. • Completes required paperwork utilizing the Maintenance Program associated with repairing the heavy equipment, documenting parts usage and repair times. • Washes vehicles and equipment. • Conducts safety checks on vehicles. • Assists Lead Mechanics in the completion of project work. • Performs work on various equipment such as skid steers, excavators, etc. • Performs other maintenance-related work as assigned or required. • Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with company policy and OSHA Standards. Qualifications: • Automotive Service Excellence /ASE certification or Society of Automotive Engineers /SAE certification is preferred • GED or high school diploma is mandatory • Excellent customer service and communications skills are necessary • Completion of a certified post-secondary training program is mandatory; an associate degree is ideal • Valid driver's license and must have a clean driving record. • Legally eligible to work in the United States. • Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations. • Successfully complete pre-employment drug screen, and background check, which will include previous employment check and motor vehicle record review. • Required to be exposed to physical environment which involves dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes, and/or similar elements. • Will not need sponsorship.
