Job Summary/introduction: We currently have an opportunity for an Account Manager in our Fine Chemicals division. This role can be fully remote (preference for location will include Indiana or Michigan). Essential Job Functions include: The Account Manager of Fine Chemicals will be responsible for promoting and selling a portfolio of fine chemical ingredients to identified customers to meet or exceed sales budget. In collaboration with the Director of Sales, the incumbent will develop strategies in order to satisfy business plan objectives and maximize sales opportunities. Essential Job Functions include: Maintains existing business at current accounts within existing customer base. Continually monitors and appraises emerging Fine Chemical products and trends in order to identify and report on possible business opportunities in targeted markets. Generates new business opportunities and solicits new customers and FC product opportunities with new clients. Defines and implements strategies at current or potential customers to enable Takasago to maintain and/or increase business and maximize profits within the US market. Prepares and executes effective business and marketing plans aligned with global FC objectives and strategy. Develops, maintains, and presents accurate sales budgets and forecasts based on past, current and anticipated activity within the FC Division. Prepares timely visit reports with detailed information of items discussed, competitive information and industry developments to management. Maintains proper records on pricing and maintains accurate client database. Assist in the creation and delivery of customer and internal presentations. Represents TAKUS at industry related trade shows, meetings, conferences and functions. Collaborates and coordinates effectively on global clients with TIC. Provides clients with general and specific information regarding product line and provides technical support, as necessary. Keeps abreast of competitive activities, prices, and new business opportunities. Ensures that administrative functions such as itineraries, expense and call reports, etc., are accurately maintained. Develops and maintains detailed understanding of competitors, their products and key market drivers. Qualifications Educational Qualifications: Minimum B.S. degree in Chemistry, Engineering, Biology or chemically related field preferred. Experience: Minimum requirement of 3-5 years of chemical or fine chemical sales experience. The equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable. Competencies and Technical skills: Competencies: The successful candidate must have knowledge of marketing strategy, proven track record in sales skills, product and competitive analysis, strong commercial understanding and excellent negotiating skills. It is important that this position is held by a person that has strong interpersonal, verbal, communication, presentation skills, and excellent customer orientation and focus. Individual must be a team player and be able to work in a fast paced interactive environment. Must be self-motivated, work well independently and be organized. Able to effectively network with the ability to operate with autonomy in a multicultural environment. Proficiency with MS Office applications required, such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word, knowledge of SAP, a plus. The ability to travel, as necessary. Must be a team player and creative problem solver. Must be able to handle multiple projects in parallel while maintaining high level quality in study design, execution, data analysis/interpretation, and report writing.
