Summary of RoleThe Construction Manager plays a critical role in overseeing the successful deployment of telecommunications infrastructure projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry standards. This role requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and effective coordination with multiple stakeholders to achieve seamless project execution.Critical Success Factors Safety & Regulatory Compliance Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols, OSHA regulations, and industry-specific requirements, ensuring a secure work environment and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Customer Satisfaction Build and maintain strong relationships with telecom providers, municipalities, and private clients, ensuring high service quality, responsiveness, and successful project delivery. Leadership & Team Coordination Direct and align cross-functional teams, including field crews and subcontractors, to ensure seamless collaboration and optimize project efficiency. Project Planning, Execution & Quality Assurance Strategically plan and manage the construction of telecommunications infrastructure, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and in alignment with scope and design specifications. Ensure all work meets industry standards, network reliability expectations, and client specifications, reducing the risk of rework and service disruptions. Effective Communication & Stakeholder Engagement Maintain clear and transparent communication with internal teams, subcontractors, clients, municipalities, and utility companies to align project goals and expectations. Adaptable and resilient under pressure, they excel at meeting deadlines and ensuring project success without compromising quality.Duties and Responsibilities Serve as the lead field contact for overseeing the deployment, execution, and completion of telecommunications infrastructure projects such as Fiber to the Cell-Site (FTTCS), Fiber to the Building (FTTB), Fiber to the Home (FTTH), Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), wireless/small cell installations, backhaul, backbone, and metro fiber ring build-outs across rural, residential, and metropolitan areas. Ensure seamless project delivery from inception to completion. Manage project milestones, timelines, and documentation. Track, review, and approve both in-house and subcontractor daily production reports, while ensuring all project progress is accurately documented and reported to meet client and internal standards. Lead and direct both in-house and subcontractor teams across various geographical areas, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment. Provide mentorship, motivation, and clear direction to ensure effective project execution while maintaining high morale and productivity. Develop and maintain long-term relationships with key vendors and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing, optimize project margins, and enhance client satisfaction. Act as the primary point of contact to resolve issues and ensure smooth coordination. Investigate and address project cost variances, ensuring efficient cost management processes are in place. Identify and implement process improvements to maximize budget performance, reduce waste, and increase profitability. Coordinate with clients, city officials, jurisdictional authorities, and utility representatives to ensure smooth communication and address any regulatory or logistical challenges. Facilitate site meetings and provide project status updates as necessary. Conduct on-site surveys and coordinate field meetings to ensure all project delivery commitments are met. Monitor project progress closely to avoid delays and maintain accurate tracking toward completion goals. Proactively develop and implement contingency plans to address potential risks, scope changes, or quality issues that could impact project timelines and budgets. Actively resolve challenges as they arise to minimize disruption and ensure project success. Monitor and track the performance of crews and subcontractors to ensure accountability and adherence to project specifications, safety standards, and construction quality. Conduct site inspections and ensure compliance with industry regulations. Enforce strict safety protocols on-site, ensuring all crews wear appropriate protective gear such as safety vests, hard hats, and signage in compliance with company and jurisdictional safety regulations. Conduct regular and unannounced safety audits to ensure ongoing compliance with industry safety standards. Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage with clients, understand their needs, propose solutions, and effectively convey technical project details both internally and externally Provide transparency and diligence with central office operations such as contracts, payroll and administrationQualifications and Education Requirements Minimum of (7) years in the telecommunications industry with outside plant construction, fiber optics, telecommunication architectures, optical transport equipment, and construction management experience At least (3) years of experience of construction management with a proven track record of team management, project performance, and project profitability from award to project completion Working knowledge of inside and outside plant fiber optic network infrastructure, engineering design and construction Proficiency with Email, MS Excel, Word, and Google Earth Advanced knowledge of public right of way and ISP/OSP Fiber Optic Plant deployments to include maintenance of traffic (MOT) Excellent managerial, administrative, and analytical skills Must possess a valid drivers license with a clean driving record as regional travel is required recblid rpakp5tf4pg6sjt8j94tbujvv51g0b
