National Cathedral School (NCS) is hiring a full-time Network and Systems Administrator to begin July 1, 2025. This position provides lead support for the school's computing, network and systems infrastructure as a member of the school's technology team. The Network and Systems Administrator will report to and work in collaboration with the Head of Technology to ensure technology is implemented in a manner that supports the mission of the school. Based on experience, the salary for this position ranges from $80,000-$100,000 and includes a comprehensive benefits package along with support for professional development. Duties and Responsibilities Manages, maintains, and optimizes the NCS network infrastructure. This includes, but is not limited to, architecture, configuration, hardware, wiring, HPE/Aruba network switching, monitoring connectivity and performance, troubleshooting and resolving problems. Manages and maintains the daily operations of NCS technology systems including, but not limited to:physical and virtual computing systems (VMWare) wired and wireless infrastructure (HPE/Aruba, Extreme Networks) database management (Blackbaud) backup and disaster recovery systems (Veeam and Google Workspace for Education) network security (Darktrace) user account management (Microsoft Azure/Entra and Google Workspace for Education) email management (Google Workspace for Education) firewall management (Watchguard) print management (Google Workspace for Education and PaperCut) phone system management (Zoom) video surveillance system management audio/visual multimedia management direct user support Support student Chromebooks and faculty/staff Windows laptops Manages and tests data backup services Maintains and coordinates vendor support for security cameras. Performs program and application installations, updates, etc. Creates and/or maintains accurate and complete documentation of the network. Coordinates with, and serves as point-of-contact for, network vendors and related service providers. Collaborates with members of the PECF Core Tech team to ensure NCS technology integrates and/or is coordinated with other institutions of the Cathedral Close. Responds to user support requests Ensures technology subscriptions, contracts, and licenses remain current Maintains an awareness of best practices of existing and emerging technologies In addition, there is the opportunity to lead student-facing work in some capacity. Required Skills and Experience Minimum 3-5 years of IT network management experience, preferably in an academic environment. Proficiency in managing a Microsoft 365 domain. Proficiency in managing a Google Workspace. Proficiency in managing Windows, ChromeOS, and limited quantities of MacOS, iPadOS devices in a network environment Proficiency managing level 2 and level 3 network switches (HPE and Aruba) Designing and managing a wireless network across multiple SSIDs Experience managing across multiple Microsoft and Google domains/networks Ability to collaborate with other network managers and IT directors at other institutions. Experience identifying, and collaborating with outside IT support vendors Project management skills Ability to manage IT systems and projects in line with budget requirements Ability to provide support to end users holding a variety of skill sets Working with, and as a member of, a team supporting a variety of hardware, software, and systems including, printers, projectors, emergency notification systems, school information systems, printer management, etc. Highly professional and ethical standards for handling sensitive and/or confidential information.
